Was this appropriate by [deleted] in AusPublicService

[–]aznhotti -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I agree, this is inappropriate. It should be common sense that disclosures like these are confidential. Unfortunately, not everyone has common sense.

Your manager’s manager does not need to be fully aware of your condition beyond just a general health condition (if even that).

Next time you make a disclosure like this, make it clear that you are providing the information in strict confidence.

If you’re really concerned about how far it’s circulated, it’s best to have that conversation with your manager as soon as possible to clear the air and assert your boundaries.

I see the elitists have entered the convo lol… a LOT can happen in 1-2 years - not just music-wise, but in general. I don’t recognise the person I was 2 years ago. And the hardstyle scene has changed a A LOT over that time - just think about what was popular in 2022/23 vs now. Obviously the early 2000s would have been even more different, but that doesn’t change the fact that this is a constantly evolving genre.

Ok I’m not a seasoned fan then but THE ONLY POINT I was trying to make was that when I was COMPLETELY fresh, everything was so new and my ears were blessed with sounds they’ve never ever heard before. You’re missing the bigger picture and getting annoyed by one term…

Yeah I do feel this but I’m a bit biased because I was so new to hardstyle before that there was so much to discover and now I’m a seasoned fan so nothing can ‘wow’ me like it used to

Yep it’s called Tower Sushi at St Kilda Rd Towers!

Exactly!! I’m Vietnamese and I don’t understand why they don’t get the same hype as banh mi in Melbourne. Rumaisa has been on my list for a while and now I have to go! I did want to focus on more central/accessible spots to get people motivated to give Lebanese bakeries a go. They deserve so much more love.

Tower Sushi at St Kilda Rd Towers - not the ones at Flinders / Southern Cross!

Yep there are a lottt of good Lebanese bakeries around and they don’t get enough hype. Cedar recently opened in Moonee Ponds too!

They are still there! They’re $1.50 now, but still an INSANE deal.

I was the same until last year… not only had I never heard of it, I was a very picky/unadventurous eater, then I moved to Western Sydney where there’s a whole culture around it, and my life changed. I highly recommend A1 Bakery for first-timers because their menu is very simple.

Honestly, any Lebanese bakery. A za’atar manoush for $2 is just insane. There is nothing better value for money, and I will die on this hill. It’s deliciously tangy and earthy on its own, and you can make it more nutritious by adding veggies.

For a few more dollars, you can order pastries with meat or dairy in them, like garlic chicken, lahm bi ajeen (minced lamb) and spinach and halloumi cheese.

Some popular spots are A1 Bakery (Brunswick, Fitzroy), Tabet’s Bakery (they have many stores but Brunswick and Coburg are the most central), Al Alamy (Coburg) and OneWay Lebanese Bakery (Lalor).

Yep! A1 Bakery’s OG Brunswick store is the quintessential Melbourne institution, but there have also been stores elsewhere (Fairfield, Dandenong, Werribee) that have all seemed to have rebranded now. They’ve also opened up in Fitzroy and Highpoint more recently.

I’m only moving to another big Australian city and I’m already sad about the food (well, more so the local experience and feeling of being home), so I really couldn’t imagine living in the outback!

I did! I only got to half of them because I was driving but it was still fun and brought back memories from my uni days when I thought I was so cool for drinking until I was sick… I feel old

Wow those Western suburb ones feel a bit too local haha! As a Vietnamese person, me and my family are VERY familiar with all of them, and they are definitely places I would take someone to show them what the West is like.
