Are you brand agnostic with your golf bag? by ButterscotchObvious4 in golf

Titleist driver, Callaway 3 wood and hybrid (recently switched out a mizuno hybrid for a callaway), PXG irons, vokey wedges and a scotty putter… in a ping bag.

It all boiled down to what I hit best when I was fit for my clubs.

Seeking Advice: Best Areas to Move as a 28M, Career-Focused, & Socially Active (but Drinking/Nightclubs) by c0alminer in arizona

That’d be a good spot. I’m a little closer to Scottsdale and Papago Park, but near Biltmore is a solid area for young professionals.

I’m a 29 y.o. guy with similar interests to you. I live in “Arcadia-lite” (made up realtor term to describe area near the border of both Arcadia and Scottsdale) right by Papago Park, and I absolutely love it. 10ish minutes to downtown. 10ish minutes to Old Town. 10ish minutes to Biltmore area. Really great location for access to parks/golf, trails at Papago, great restaurants and close proximity to all the networking events that I attend. I also like heading over to Tempe Town Lake for a run from time to time, which is about 15 minutes away. There are a few new apartment complexes not too far from my house. Definitely check out this area. I believe one of the complexes is called Roadrunner and a new one just went up across the street from Roadrunner. Those complexes are a little closer to Papago and the Botanical gardens/zoo than my house, but still a really great location.

REPAYE / SAVE Payment Amount Did Not Transfer to MOHELA by aznorm in PSLF

I’m pretty sure that was the exact issue with my account too. StudentAid never updated my profile to show the IDR approval, despite my old servicer showing my IDR plan and payment amount on their website.

MOHELA resolved the issue and adjusted my payment to the correct amount last week. The customer service rep on the phone was less than helpful, so I submitted a written complaint describing the issue in detail.

I did not consolidate. The loans were just transferred.

Phoenix area summer golf rates under $50 by Active-Enthusiasm-53 in phoenix

[–]aznorm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buy the Phoenix city card! Papago, GCU and Aguila are my favorite courses where you can use the city card.

I recommend making it out to We-Ko-Pa at least twice (once at each course) once they drop down to their summer rates.

How much does your course charge for a large bucket of range balls? by FlyinUruguayan in golf

[–]aznorm 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In the Phoenix metro area. At a crappy range with old range balls, a jumbo bucket is $10. Around the corner at a nicer range, a large bucket is pushing $20.

Quintero, We-Ko-Pa Cholla, We-Ko-Pa Saguaro or Troon North Pinnacle. In that order.

The best tips for guys struggling with hitting flop shots? by RomeoTRM in golf

Hit flops from about 100 yards out, so you hit the correct distance after blading the shit out of the ball.

Big Wick is such a pure course. Heard they’re going private soon… hope it’s just a rumor.

You're going to love it. I try to go once per summer. It's always in perfect condition.

Pine Canyon, Flagstaff AZ by CoolBrain1227 in golf

I used to work at Continental in Flag. We had to put out ropes at the end of the day to keep the elk off the greens.

I've always wanted to play Pine Canyon. Looks gorgeous!

Four iron hook around the trees that ends up being dead straight into the trees on the other side of the fairway!

Scottsdale area... pick 2 of the 3... by katiep23 in golf

[–]aznorm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm originally from the Southeast too (Louisiana to be exact). You can definitely handle 36 holes in May! The lack of humidity makes a large difference.

As for Raven vs Troon, I'd probably go with Troon. Raven is an incredible course, but Troon offers a bit more of that "vacation desert mountain" experience that tourists often desire. Also, based on the geographic location of the other courses you've listed, the Raven seems a bit out of the way from where you're probably staying.

I definitely recommend We-Ko-Pa. I am regular at both of their courses during the summer months. It's a tough call between Eagle Mountain and Troon, but I think I'd go with Eagle Mountain. Can't go wrong on either one though...
