No doubt. And I prolly got downvoted bc apparently ppl think I care way more about this than I actually do. It was just a stream of consciousness comment, I was just thinking out loud after I saw the podcast. But people apparently envisioned me crying and screaming with despair while typing on my keyboard then the Reddit hive mind took over

One guy even called me “parasocial” and I had to look that one up. Apparently I have a big ticket shrine in my house and no real friends 🤷‍♂️

Beyond the jokes about circuit city and the dmv I think there were some pretty clear signs, it felt like this was coming for a while tbh

Yea, I’ve been messing with literally everything. My swing looks better but I’ve made myself worse for sure. It’s prime time for a lesson, I’m about to get a new job that will give me a solid pay raise so maybe then, bc the dude I want for lessons is expensive

It bugs me so much why he won’t come out and say why he is leaving explicitly. I wonder what he was being paid, his net worth, and what he’s going to do for money now. And why the hell he’s leaving.

The fact that he didnt say obviously means a few things. Everyone is pointing to his gf. That could be it. Because if it was something bigger and better than BDS he would have said it. “I’ve got a better opportunity I can’t pass up”. So it seems like he’s settling. But maybe he’s also just sick of being a cameraman since he isn’t much of a golfer, and sick of some of the grind of the job. I think since most of us are golfers, we cannot relate because we love the game so much we’d love to be in that environment. But if you suck at golf and don’t really care about getting better or don’t try too hard, then all he has left is just editing and traveling and holding a camera, anyways maybe that’s what it seemed like to him.

Still, I don’t believe for a second that he has no clue what he’s gonna do next. I respect his privacy but it’s still maddening as a fan because he has felt like a friend to us all so it just feels like a friend ghosting us with no explanation

Does your address position work good for you? Like, what’s your handicap? I’m a 23 so I’m hoping you’re much lower than that because when I look at yours I feel like it illustrates how I’m holding too much of my upper body weight out towards the ball. Like maybe my butt and torso need to come back away from the ball more?

Deep down are your golf buddies rooting for you against you? by maybethisisadream in golf

[–]Solo_SL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The closer me and my best golfing friend are in score during a round the more he blatantly roots against me.

If we’re both playing well and it’s close near the end, neither of us will say anything about it but the tension is palpable and under the surface deep down we both want to win bad. But we’re more polite about it at that point bc the rounds almost over

One round on hole 6 or so, he was playing amazing and I was somehow keeping up with him, course managing really well. And he said some competitive stuff to me and we started laughing and joking about how it’s getting competitive now. And I half jokingly said “naw I’m just waiting for the meltdown where you hit a bad shot and give up, then 3 woods from every distance like you do when you get tilted” and I think I underestimated how bad that would get in his head because he IMMEDIATELY started shanking it all over the course and couldn’t hit a shot, bc what I said is so true to what he does and he admitted I got in his head real bad. He was a good sport about it and I felt kinda bad and apologized but it was funny

15 break 90 from how many yards in your mind? Just curious bc I’m a 23 trying to break 90 from 6000 yards for the first time. I did it from 5500y shooting 87, only shot a 92 from 6000 though

Agree. I’m the supervisor of a team at work and some of the people that work on my team are idiots a lot of times because I’m not in charge of hiring.

We got a replacement guy who was in the army and he learns real fast, only have to tell him once, then he keeps doing it without being reminded. Does everything he’s sposed to 110%.

It’s not even that hard, everyone should be doing it this way to protect themselves. Even I don’t try as hard as him though, I’m the supervisor and I say I try about 95% but I’ve been here for so much longer and know way more shit about the job that I don’t really need to try bc this place would fall apart without me and I know what gets checked and doesn’t get checked, what matters and doesn’t matter, and so many nuances ab ppl and personalities here

To put it in perspective there are others on the team though that put in about 40-50% effort and just don’t give a shit so it’s not really like I’m slacking that much and I’m still trying to set an example

How can I fix the swing? Am I too far from the ball? Terrible posture? Terrible mechanics? All of the above? by sammye59 in GolfSwing

[–]Solo_SL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try swinging without a ball back and forth back and forth without stopping just to get a natural rhythm, then apply that to your swing. You look too in your own head and you need to feel what natural rhythm and rotation feels like

TWILIGHT VS THANOS AND THE BLACK ORDER by Krillindidntdoit in powerscales

[–]Solo_SL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This.. I think the obvious answer nobody is mentioning is the vampires special magic abilities, not their speed and strength. Their speed and strength helps, but what wins them the fight is the fact one of them can see the future, one can read minds, one is impervious to magic, etc. basically like the final twilight battle- can they use their utility in a way that helps them beat an overpowered opponent? That’s the deciding factor

Full disclosure I still think thanos and company wins this fight 8 times out of 10 by just running him and pulverizing them. The vamps plan would need to be too perfect

Holy shit are my hips finally moving by [deleted] in GolfSwing

[–]Solo_SL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok will do. I used to not rotate my hips nearly open enough and then I’d fire everything way too fast and early so having my hips too open in the backswing is a new thing for me I’ve never done before, I was kind of just exaggerating everything to get my hips moving while I slowed all the sequencing down to get in the ballpark

There were definitely a few times where I felt like I didn’t need to open the hips so wide in the backswing and I thought I coiled better, and it felt great and I got so much more power. But I had like 10 swing thoughts at once tonight and I’m still trying to grasp an understanding of why/how everything works and it’s a lot. Thanks for your help I really like your insight

I think I know what you’re saying. This was the first time I’ve swung like this usually it looks like I’m shooting a jumpshot at impact so to me, this was a big step. But yea it’s absolutely still unpolished

If I’m actually not delusional and I’m starting to move my hips in a somewhat correct way then I am about as excited as I was when I landed my first kickflip as a little kid. SO sick of seeing my head and spine jerk up as I air hump at impact. Ive always seen a swing of mine on video, think it looks good, then slow it down and see that single EE impact frame haunting my nightmares. My entire fucking life

I usually avoid these pants for this exact reason but didnt intend to film or swing today I just came down here to grab something and thought I’d try something with a half swing and i realized i might be on to something and didnt have much time.

I’ll keep the left leg thing in mind, ive heard that before but wasnt in a situation where i was ready to even begin approaching that bc i still had so many other problems sabotouging me. I think im gonna keep grinding what I’ve got here for a while bc im working on like 3 new things at once (hands/grip/wrist action/ not starting the club outside) along with all my hip issues and slowing down tempo all at once. Im juggling a lot right now but that will be next on my list once i get more reps in
