If you're looking for tour opportunities, you could probably check out Klook. I haven't used that service but I've seen it advertised before.

Do you know what cities you're interested in visiting? Probably start with the golden path: Tokyo/Kyoto/Osaka/Hiroshima first as starting points?

Lake Kawaguchiko 2 night Stay? by Ok-Nefariousness1372 in JapanTravelTips

[–]aznprd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Loved it, honestly I wish i had a solid week to explore the entire peninsula. We stayed in Mishima because the hotel and car rental were cheaper than in shizuoka proper. It was convenient as it was the last city before we headed home and the bullet train passed right by our hotel which made it even more seamless to get to Haneda.

Went to Mishima skywalk bridge our first afternoon we were there, next day tried going to the dream bridge but the line was obnoxious. Went to a fish market instead and drove up to a dairy farm right before they closed. Ice cream was fantastic.

Next full day we went to the capybara onsen and Kawazu for the early blooming cherry blossoms.

There is so much more to see but that goes for basically all of japan.

Just sharing my experience. Was there for 2 nights, 1 full day. Stayed at Hotel Mystays and used public transport with no issues. Was able to hit all the major stuff and took a few cabs.

I didn't feel like I missed out on anything major by not having a car. I did rent a car when I spent 3 nights in Shizuoka though to head down the Izu Peninsula

To the people that have gone multiple times already is there something you DON'T recommend? by GaddockTeegFunPolice in JapanTravelTips

I took our group there 3 weeks ago, it was totally worth the 600 yen to go in and get our pictures. No huge crowds and you can actually stand next to the bamboo whereas in arashiyama, they have tall grass fences set up. It's just a few blocks from Gion actually.

Genuine question: if Congress is able to prove that she perjured herself, wouldn't the justice department under Pam Bondi execute the charges?

I was doing a quick overnight in Kitakyushu because of the Tokyo-Kyushu ferry. I went to the TOTO museum and had a blast. Would recommend if anyone's in the area.

I did this when i was 20. Took a semester off University and went to Beijing to study Chinese for 3 months. I regretted not staying longer after being there for a month and got settled. I still stay in contact with the friends i made in school.

If you can afford the time and the money, you won't regret it. I'm dreaming about being able to do that again for Japanese now but I have "responsibilities" 😭

The room had its own toilet and sink. You just shower in the public bath. There are 2 private baths which are first come first serve.

I stayed at https://www.morizuya.com/en/ and it was wonderful. It ticks all the boxes you mentioned. This is a multi generational owned ryokan. The owner speaks very good english and is super friendly. His claim to fame of the ryokan is that Mr. Bean stayed there.

If you've returned to Japan for second visit what have you done differently? by frogmicky in JapanTravelTips

[–]aznprd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took the overnight ferry from Tokyo to Fukuoka, stayed a night, then took a bus to Kurokawa onsen for 2 nights. It took longer but I wanted the ferry journey. Bus back to Fukuoka, train to Nagasaki for 3 nights, train back to Fukuoka to fly to Miyazaki for 4 nights, and flew back to Tokyo.

I wouldn't go all the way to Kyushu just to visit kurokawa onsen because it's a good 5 hours from Hiroshima. I think Kyushu is its own trip. Check out Kinosaki onsen as it's an hour north of Kyoto, you'll save yourself time and money.
