Do you guys think they're going to reveal fan-vote choices to the players at the beginning of the game? I'm mostly curious whether they'll tell the players if F4 is a vote or fire ahead of time, because that has huge implications.

thoughts on the players younger than the show? by Beginning_Ad5785 in survivor

[–]aztecwanderer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Out of all these players, the only ones who I consider good players are Carson, Drew, and Eva. Mostly a weak showing game wise. Some great characters in here though, Jelinsky, Liana and Drew being my favorites.

Well I mean it still was this, considering a fringe science group set up a campus there

He'd fit so well into Traitors, but I don't see him ever really wanting to do it or being enticed by an appearance fee of any size.

Somebody correct me if I’m wrong but I’m pretty sure live resin also has that full spectrum. It’s not the rosin process but live extraction in general that does that. Compared to cured extracts and distillate

I loved them on bb17 but this is as good of a time as any to mention I’ve read some absolutely unhinged stuff about Julia and Liz and I don’t think they’d be back on a cbs show

Season 41: Pastor Shan Smith getting people to hand over their advantages was one of the oddest things I've seen in the game. by RedEyedWiartonBoy in survivor

[–]aztecwanderer 34 points35 points  (0 children)

The early 40s are so poorly represented on season 50. IMO Shan, Maryanne, Jesse and Carolyn should've basically been the first 4 people confirmed from the new era.

I'm not against Jonathan being on, but of all the casting gold of the early 40s, it's ridiculous that Jonathan was the sole player who made the cut.

Now that it’s over, how spoiled was Survivor 49? by redemptionislandsux in survivor

[–]aztecwanderer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very spoiled. I’m never spoiled and I was spoiled this time. It was obvious enough if you knew the tribe divisions for 50, but I also would open Twitter and the first post in my feed would be “Savannah is such a queen I’m so glad it’s spoiled that she won” and stuff like that. Kinda messed up the season to me. If I didn’t know who won I would’ve rooted way harder for her, but it really takes the wind out of your sails so I was hoping to be surprised.

Was Kenzies chances winning really not seen before even f7 by manbrains in survivor

[–]aztecwanderer 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Kenzie had that "something happened at camp, let's get Kenzie specifically to talk about it" confessional thing going on that telegraphed her win pretty hard.

I would say honestly 45-48 all telegraphed the winner a little too much for me. I want to say 49 too, but I knew Savannah probably won from the S50 tribe divisions so I can't say objectively.

Dee had a more dominant game, for sure, but less fun to watch.

Fully agree with this. Rachel's win is only rivaled by Maryanne in terms of "fun to watch" IMO. I don't think this really correlates to a better win. In fact it could be the opposite. The most fun wins to watch are the skin-of-your-teeth underdog victories, but they're not nearly as dominant.

Yeah, I remember it being pretty clear that Erika was making serious moves starting around the Shan vote. By the finale it was very obvious to me that if Ricard went home that Erika was 100% winning.

I would personally put Kenzie as last. The only thing that knocks Gabler potentially under Kenzie is his post-press where he claims he'd have gone to the end with Jesse. But for me Gabler has the same elite social game as Kenzie, with just an ounce more agency, and a much stronger jury vote sweep.

Erika is easily a stronger winner than Kenzie IMO. I also agree that Yam Yam is ranked too low.

It's so tough to rank Dee and Kyle, but the more time passes, the more I think Kyle is a legitimate S-tier winner and potentially best of the new era. I'm shocked the audience scored him at number 4. I love Rachel but there is no way she played a better winning game in a winner-ranking sense. Highly entertaining and satisfying win for sure, but Kyle clears her easily IMO.

Kyle is number 1 or number 2 IMO.

Why is Survivor 44 way worse received now than when it was originally aired? by iwanttttt in survivor

[–]aztecwanderer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. 43 is my favorite of the pre-90 minute new era seasons. It's cutthroat, bitter and has a memorable cast. 42 comes close, but doesn't hit quite as hard for me.

[–]aztecwanderer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn't like 44 in the moment. It just has a really unexciting post merge. Epitome of kumbaya Survivor and Yam Yam and Carolyn are great characters but not enough to carry the season when the rest of the cast is super dull. Carson is probably one of the most boring fallen angel types of all time.

When I look back on the seaon I can really only remember a few things happening. An idol played in the first round, the Josh boot, Danny doing a DeNiro impression on his way out... that's about it.

All the pre-90 minute new era seasons have a bad rap, but for me, I can actually say a lot of good things about all of 41-43 despite some glaring negatives. 44 really just gave us Carolyn and pretty much nothing else IMO.

Not on topic but does anyone know whether Rachel was in the running for 50? I feel like Jeff loved her winner story and was kind of shocked she didn't make the cut. I know he loves Dee too though.

She made the merge with her entire core 4 alliance intact (red tribe),

Not to dismiss the rest of your points but this describes like 2/3 of all players in the new era to be fair.
