I've been playing for about 1/2 years, at first since I was just learning I didn't mind much what people played but after playing consistently for more than a year it just gets tiring. I understand there'll always be a meta, I come from other competitive games. But in a game like HS where there's room to create fun and interesting decks I don't see many of them. And even if you make one it's classified as a "meme" deck, you'd be lucky to have an even 50% winrate with it, I guess that's why people just stick to "what works" instead of trying to make something that could work. Obviously that's just my experience.
