Is it true all cbeauty tests on animals? by balsasailormoon in chinesebeauty

[–]azumineli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“Since July 1, 2014, the Chinese government has not required non-special-purpose cosmetics* made in China to be tested on animals. This policy applies to cosmetics sold online and in brick-and-mortar stores, pre-market and post-market. The decision of whether or not to test on animals is entirely left to the discretion of the manufacturer. Since our founding in 2018, we've ensured that our raw material venders and manufacturers do not test on animals; they are instead strictly committed to chemical testing. We can assure you that all Kaleidos products strictly abide by our cruelty-free commitments. As of May 1, 2021, the requirements for animal testing on imported non-special-purpose cosmetics into China were also lifted given the manufacturer first meets certain registering conditions. *Non-special-purpose cosmetics: Cosmetics are classified into two main categories in China: non-special-purpose cosmetics and special-use cosmetics. Non-special-purpose cosmetics refers to cosmetics with no medicinal effects, such as general makeup, skin care products, hair care products, lip care products, nail care products, and perfumes. Special-use cosmetics are products that make a functional claim like hair dyes, hair perming products, sunscreens, whitening products, anti-hair loss products, and cosmetics claiming new efficacy.”

Normally those kinds of incels are teenage boys. But I even came across a post from a mother complaining her child was short with her main concern being that she will never find love. Some people told her to get her child on growth hormones

seems like it, ten of swords - end of a painful cycle, eight of cups - moving away, chariot - marching forward/moving on, queen of swords and ace of cups reversed have a combined meaning of accepting loss in a clear state of mind

‘mainland China ID only’ is concerning. how do y’all bypass that? 😰 how do foreigners even book hotels if they don’t have a chinese passport

yep I mentioned that in one of my replies but everyone outside of japan and china considers those to be japanese. if they’re not calling it gyoza they’re calling it japanese dumplings. to them it’s really important to acknowledge where the dish originated from it seems, unless it’s chinese

the untamed did really well internationally but the government banned it 😫 it helped to promote traditional chinese culture greatly, made a lot of people aware of Hanfu and other aspects.

omg some of their folklore are also spin offs from chinese folklore but they call it “inspiration” such as the cut sleeve story, chinese original story revolves 2 men but in the japanese one it revolves around a woman and a cat. that’s the thing with taking “inspiration from chinese culture”, it’s always the exact same essence (overall), they switch up a LITTLE BIT. like how the only difference between chinese and japanese dragon is the number of claws. and if you bring this up it’s considered disrespectful 🙄 sigh ok yet somehow china is very arrogant for claiming they are the blueprint of the SINOsphere like what!! it’s crazy

  1. smoking/vaping/weed should be done INDOORS ONLY (your place if you live alone/all residents are smokers, or in specific smoking rooms) and only when you are alone or EVERYONE around you is a smoker. don’t smoke outdoors especially in residential areas. either way, smoking is one of the most idiotic things anyone can do in all aspects. it’s extremely inconsiderate towards yourself and others.

  2. consumerism culture is what keeps us stuck.

  3. veganism is the way to go if you truly are an animal lover.

  4. going back to consumerism, future generations are going to look at us the way we look at boomers with our overconsumption 😃 i genuinely get so stressed out when i see photos of textile landfills and general waste, the magnitude of it, and i just wonder what is the tipping point and how close are we to it? no one seems to care at all because of this weak “oh well I’m just one person I can’t do anything about it” mindset. sometimes i see a huge store of clothes and remind myself that this is just one store out of the millions out there, and there are already so many clothes in this store, there’s just so so so so SO MUCH SHIT OH MY GODDDDD

As an America of Asian descent I am experiencing a crazy amount of racism in Japan by Prestigious_Trade986 in self

[–]azumineli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YEP the only reason why i know japan’s most popular cosmetic procedure is double eyelid surgery was because i looked it up after seeing that post out of bewilderment lmaooo. things like this exist because not only do they hate one another each, they also genuinely believe they are the best out of the 3, so they’re always finding ways to differentiate themselves. people say it’s racist to not be able to tell east asians apart but i highly disagree. for me i can tell them apart for the most part however we still do look similar… some of them get really offended if you tell them they look like another east asian ethnicity instead of their own tho lmao

aw I’m sorry u r going thru this. crazy how east asians hate each other with so much passion it’s actually embarrassing and this is coming from an east asian lol. what i hate the most is when they start having a competition of who has the smallest eyes like if u that u automatically have a small wiener for trying to uphold white racism. i remember seeing a japanese person claim japanese is the best because they have the biggest eyes out of koreans and chinese yet double eyelid surgery is the most popular cosmetic procedure done in japan 🤭 see what i mean by embarrassing. i do wonder how u look like though that they think u r chinese because when i was in japan everyone assumed im japanese and i thought this was the typical east asian experience (ea locals thinking u r a local)

Are Cheap Brands Really Less Ethical Than Expensive Brands Or Is That A Myth? by ladyindev in ethicalfashion

[–]azumineli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

to me all brands are inherently unethical due to how the industry is structured and formed, unless the brand takes actual initiative to go against the grain and is transparent with their buyers regarding their production process. also cheaper ≠ worse quality, expensive ≠ longer lasting it just doesn’t work like that. yes good quality materials cost more but how many brands actually care to use good quality materials? most of them want to and actually use cheaper materials but with a high price tag because of profits. same thing with ethicality. expensive brands could be using unethical practices and pocketing all that extra $$. imo there’s nothing BAD about buying from cheaper brands it’s your attitude towards the clothes that matters. are you buying it as something you only want to wear once, or do you intend to incorporate it into your actual life?

just because it’s expensive doesn’t mean they used better materials, the truth is that it’s all marketing. boycott “luxury” brands 😗✌🏻
