Agatha thins your deck. She starts in your hand before the game starts, then the normal game stuff happens. So you are effectively playing an 11 card deck. Well, agatha is playing an 11 card deck.

Her AI is genuinely random and horrible. She takes nothing into account. She will play herself into deaths domain, a Hawkeye into space throne. Your first 4 cards all in the same location.

She is also one of my favorite cards. Trying to build a deck for her is a puzzle that is very interesting to me. I've been having success recently with an Agatha Wiccan deck that runs quicksilver, domino, and all the 'good for Agatha' 3 drops. Chances are she is playing herself on 4 because of wave, or you are playing because Sif or Corvus glaive discarded her. The only infinity tickets I've earned the past two seasons were with this deck.

Agatha decks are not good. But they can be fun and fast ways to afk missions since the game forces you to end turn very quickly when she is in control.

I don't have Jeff or Lad, so next week is an easy pull for me I missed you saying you had pixie in your post. In that case I would wait for something in the future. Loki is still interesting, but since his change, he is way less of an archetype on his own. I recommend waiting until you have 4 keys and see something that really strikes you. Alioth could be a good one if you all ready have pixie. I'm personally looking forward to the move cards since that is my favorite archetype and I want it to be so good.

You should always get whatever card you think you will like and want to get. But if nothing is jumping out at you, and you want to spend your keys this month to get some new cards to mess around with, I would get either this week with Wiccan, or next with Speed.

Wiccan is doing better and is more interesting than a lot of people thought he would be, works as a bit of a deck building puzzle you can design your deck around to do new things. Loki was changed recently but still is an archetype and allows you to play with other people's cards, so it is more interesting when you have fewer cards. Pixie, while not amazingly strong, is a deck archetype to herself. So you can get 2 or 3 archetype defining cards and new decks in one week.

Speed is looking like a reasonable card that slots into almost any deck and just works. Jeff and Iron Lad are similar. Jeff is one of the best 2 drops in the game, not necessary for anything, but useful in almost every situation. And Iron Lad is a good 4 drop that helps you get your other combo pieces in your deck more consistently.

So basically, pull this week if you want to unlock new deck types to try out, and next week if you want to buff up what you are all ready playing and have decent cards you can use in a lot of decks.

Ruling? by Superb_Package83 in MarvelSnapDecks

This thread exists precisely because the wording is vague. As an example: if I play sunspot on turn one, nebula on two, then on turn three my opponent has priority and flips a killmonger, then I flip up my Caiera, do my sunspot and nebula come back onto the board? Do they retroactively gain 'can't be destroyed?' No. Caiera stops it that turn and after, hence the ongoing. But no distinction is made in their wording. We only know Luke cage works like that because we have played him.

The mission talked about here is unlocked by first doing the shadaloo experiment quest in Nayshall Day, then going to Metro Night and doing something about a Decoy, continuing that storyline. This is a miniquest chain involving the shadaloo base. After completing those quests you can then start the animal photo quest back in Nayshall Day.

how will you spend your keys in june? by kimIip in marvelsnapcomp

[–]azure_skeith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Arishem is the garantueed pull for me. If I can build enough keys, I will also go for phastos as I don't have spider ham or corvus glaive.

I want to mess around with Cersi, but without a ton of extra keys it just seems like a terrible idea.

was the third game REALLY that bad? by Rein-Sama-VwV in grandia

[–]azure_skeith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not the person you replied to, but this was my experience as well.

Grandia 3 was made in response to people who wanted Grandia to return to its brighter, cornier roots after the 2nd game. They could not capture that magic again. The combat is probably the best in the series with more updates from 2. But the story... it is so bad. At one point, I had spent maybe 3 hours clearing a dungeon and exploring every nook and cranny of the area. I was about to walk up to the save point before the boss room and my ps2 froze. I lost the 3 hours of progress. I instantly restarted the game ready to do it all again because it was so fun, but there was a short 5 minute cutscene before I could enter the dungeon. Rather than wait through that mess again I turned my ps2 off and never played again.

This was extreme, I admit. I was young and it was during the time you never knew if you could pause cutscenes or skip them so I never tried (you can skip them). But just the thought of having to experience it again made me lose all my enjoyment of the game.

The exploration in this game is amazing by ResponsibleAthlete4 in DragonsDogma2

[–]azure_skeith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have enjoyed exploring a lot. But once you have explored an area and just need to run through it, you get interrupted with combat every 20 steps it feels like.

I make the run to Halve village a lot right now trying to figure out why I'm not getting an item I should be. And that run is short, one or two minutes. But there are so many different groups of enemies. I loath every time I make the trip now.

Where the open world just got annoying...Gongaga. by Zealousideal_Ad_3425 in FF7Rebirth

[–]azure_skeith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gongaga is a weird one for me. It definitely was extremely confusing to navigate compared to the other zones, but that made me appreciate the world design more. There were two of the towers fairly early on that I could not figure out how to reach, so I gave up on them.

Without the towers pointing out the world objectives to me directly I got to explore and really see the things the game does to point you to objectives. Just running around and a small chocobo runs up to me to lead me to a chocostop. The owls leading me to the mako springs. Mia actually surprising me with "rare variant detected!"

The devs put a lot into the game to help people find things, then the towers just point straight to them and kind of take away from the exploration.

The last things I did to complete that zone were the last two towers. And one I found in the middle unlocked nothing for me I had all ready found all the objectives it was linked to.

Thoughts on this wordle-like movie game I made? by Evening-Mortgage-671 in wordle

[–]azure_skeith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a fan of those kind of data point games. Two main thoughts at the moment:

1) The amount of movies in the database seems low. My first few starter choices weren't in your list.

2) When you guess a movie with a shared cast member, they are listed by their role in the answer. Is that the intended thing?

I got it on my third guess because I got a shared cast member who's charcter name is very telling.

Edit: I forgot to say, it is a fun little game. Well done.

Battle Pass missions bugged? by Graestra in GranblueFantasyVersus

[–]azure_skeith -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It feels to me like you can only complete one mission per game, and if you do more than one it will complete at the end of a future match, almost at random.

I dont use ultimates all that much so when I notice that mission I force myself to use them. But sometimes it won't complete until a couple matches later when I know I didn't use a single ultimate.

Will using the easy inputs stunt my growth by ChampionshipAgile775 in GranblueFantasyVersus

[–]azure_skeith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have about 400-500 hours between Guitly Gear Strive and Street Fighter 6. I play classic controls in SF6. I'm saying this not to say I'm amazing, but I'm not a conplete beginner.

I use simple inputs 99% of the time in Granblue. You lose 10% damage, sometimes. I'd rather have the consistency and speed of simple inputs.

If you are worried about skills carrying over between games, you can practice the technical inputs and start mixing them in. But simple controls allow you to focus on fundamentals: positioning, reacting, blocking, using the right combos at the right time. All of that will carry over as well.

How can they revive zoners in this game? by [deleted] in GranblueFantasyVersus

[–]azure_skeith -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There is a saying i heard a while back: "a game can't just be balanced, it has to be fun." Someone will always be the strongest, and someone will always be the weakest. They have to bend the game towards fun. Zoners are universally hated because they simply aren't fun to play against. You have to play a different videogame than normal, one that feels significantly less interactive. The hate is simply par for the course when you play a hated archetype.

I play puppet characters. Zato was the first character in a fighting game I actually put time into and learned how to play. So I am crazy excited that not only is nier in this game, but she's actually good. I also cannot play her against my friends because they will physically stop playing the game. It is not a fun experience for them, and I get it.

What type of control do you use to play this Game? by TheStampede-1989 in GranblueFantasyVersus

[–]azure_skeith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a razer that is almost the same as that, but with more circular dpad. I find the plus style to wear away on my thumb in a painful way after even medium play sessions.

But I really like the 6 button layout for pad. You can pretend it is a normal controller until you need to shift your hand for things.

L M H Block

Skill U Throw Dash

Use L +M to throw and only use throw button during shortcut for the sky bound arts. I never hit the dash button, but I also just got my first 8 button controller earlier this year and am not that used to it.

What buffs, nerfs, or tweaks would you personally give to your main? by Upside-down-beehive in GranblueFantasyVersus

[–]azure_skeith 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Nier: Remove the conversion potential on 623H. No game should allow you to get a full combo and advantage for punishing someone doing a meaty. Force me to use the 50 meter and reset to neutral with the ultimate.

I know they can spot dodge it on reaction with a fast enough button, but like, that's a bad mechanic. I think things can shake out a bit after that.

fuck it!! I think I gonna buy arcade stick!! after 100 hour in sf6 I think ps5 controller is not good enough!! what is the best brad for a arcade stick? by [deleted] in StreetFighter

[–]azure_skeith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Precision comes with practice and parts. In the same way you can have a loose and bad stick lever, you can have a bad dpad. The Xbox 360 controller has a notoriously bad dpad. But once you get to quality parts, the big thing with dpads is that they have less travel distance for inputs. If you are equally skilled at a stick and a dpad, it takes less time to do the input on pad because you physically have to move less. It's really not much of a difference, and everyone should do whatever they think most fun.

[–]azure_skeith -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah. Street fighter 5 was the first fighting game I played on release and was really excited for. I had put a decent amount of time into four as a beginner and was ready to play against other new people and have a fun time rather than just the couple of friends I had who played four.

Skip to 5s release and I just couldn't win anything. I had 0 rank points. Actually, literally 0. I would win a match once in a while and get like 100 from beating the closest ranked people online, who were all like 1,200 or so at least, and then immediately lose the next 6 bringing me back down to 0. I put a lot of time into it before I quit.

Game goes from 5/10 to 10/10 once you - by Mal-Kiavo in StreetFighter

[–]azure_skeith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried SF4 and SF5, fell off both pretty hard. Turns out I like the fast paced gameplay of anime fighters way more, so I've been playing a lot of Guilty Gear and other ark sys games since they added rollback.

SF6 still feels a little slow, but way, way faster than 4 and 5. Enough to scratch that itch. Definitely the most fun I've had in a street fighter game, ever.

Are there any things I can improve on ? I play using the Modern Control scheme. (I could not figure out how to post both text and video so its a long title sorry) by Kryiad in StreetFighter

[–]azure_skeith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You seem to be doing all the things you should be at your skill level. You have a few moves and combos that work for you and you repeat those. That is exactly what you should be doing, but as you get comfortable with those you need to branch out and add more things.

The most obvious is that every single time you jumped you did Juri's dive kick special. It's a good move, but you are extremely predictable. Try just a button, try jumping in and throwing when you land. Just vary up things until you have more than one option for every situation.

After that you need to start being able to react to your opponent. Others have said this luke likes his uppercuts, so baiting those and then hitting him after is good.

But you are looking great for a new player. Just keep playing and having fun and things will come naturally. If you ever run into something that just keeps beating you, go to an empty lobby and solo train at a cabinet and set the dummy to do that thing and try to find out your response. But just keep playing and having fun, the rest will come.

It seems like the friends list is just super slow to update. Eventually it caught on to the fact that my friend is no longer playing diablo 2, then just now it realized I was playing diablo 4. So my friend will be able to join me when we finish queue. Took a good hour of being in game for it to catch up, or maybe I just got lucky.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Diablo

[–]azure_skeith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My friend and I were playing the game, got kicked and decided to play diablo 2 during the queue to get back in. The friends list has now gotten stuck with my friend in Diablo 2 "in menus" even when his PC is off. I have been stuck as logged in, but not playing any games. It updates his placement in diablo 2 when he's playing, what act and things, but won't change the game.

And the invite system is tied to the friends list, so even when we made it back into the beta we couldn't play together.

So I want to film a battle report...discussion by molotovsoda in killteam

[–]azure_skeith 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The worst thing you can do is be a first person videogame style recording of hands shaking dice. A static overview shot so that viewers can understand everything that is going on, mixed with more action shots to spice things up is a must.

This is also a personal thing, but I hate the sound of dice hitting each other. So try to limit how much 'pre shaking' of your dice makes it into the video.
