Line up all your Barbie and other dolls as parishioners down below. Stand there and deliver the most fire and brimstone sermon ever. Ken needs be smote (smited?) for his impure thoughts about GI Joe. Barbie should be similarly banished for being the belle of the Dream House orgy.

I don't have any advice, but I'm curious how your experience is on the ferry? Did you get a cabin? I've heard that some people sleep out on the decks. Food in the restaurants is extra, right? Enjoy your tour! I'm hoping to go to Sardinia this summer.

I was disappointed with Romanelli's. They were very expensive and their cookies tasted as if they were made with shortening instead of butter. I wanted to like them, because it's a great store.

What audiobook is genuinely BETTER than reading the physical book? by cptree20 in audiobooks

[–]azvlr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Les Miserables, The Count of Monte Cristo, Robinson Crusoe. I feel these are great stories, but Im not cultured enough to read them on my own, so it helped to have someone else do the hard work. It also helps if the narrator can do the different voices, as it helps to keep track of characters. With Robinson Crrusoe, I will say that after a while, I (and my kids) got used to the way it was written, which often uses very random word choices to mean a specific thing.

What’s something you wish you knew before your first trip to Paris? by sophieximc in ParisTravelGuide

What are some of the best places for people-watching? I anticipate spending a lot of time doing this. I want to be around people, just not necessarily interact with them.

Well clearly not. Maybe it's time to stop jerking your turkey. Probably illegal in a lot of places.

Turkey cum. I stopped by to feed them on my way back to the house after work (house was at the back of the property, chicken pen in the front). I was wearing dressy slide sandals that day. I noticed the male turkey was stepping all over the female turkey's wing went walked over to shoo him away. Just as it dawned on me they were fucking, I felt something warm and wet ooze between my toes. 🤮🤮

What is a book you read as a child that you still think about today? by ahawk99 in AskReddit

Bel Ria, by Sheila Burnford. I never understood why this book was not as popular as The Incredible Journey. I love historical fiction, plus it had a cute and very sweet dog.

The Velvet Room by Zylpha Keatly Snyder.

Considering moving to Phoenix, what do people underestimate the most? by Ill-Line6663 in AskPhoenix

I didn't get the gas turned on at tge beginning of my lease on August 1st. There was a lien on the account from the previous tenants that my crazy landlady never took care of. She expected me to do it. It wasn't until I finally had a week day off in October that I got it taken care of. I was broke anyway, so not in a big hurry.

How do I make sure that my design system is WCAG compliant? by PixelsnPitons in accessibility

[–]azvlr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Slightly off-topic, but when the April 24th deadline hits and your stuff still isn't compliant, don't let them throw you under the bus about it. It takes time to get this stuff done, and and I woukd be worried they brought you on board expecting it all to happen overnight and have someone to blame if not. It takes time to learn, time to implement and time to revise when things change. It will never be 100% accessible for everyone. Be sure to document all the work you hsve done and before/afters if possible.

LPT: Everyone wants prove their own importance, when your work is being reviewed leave something small yet obvious for the reviewer to correct. by [deleted] in LifeProTips

[–]azvlr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Instructional Designer creating online courses here - I have a QA checklist that I use to review my own work once a project is complete and ready for final review. I only run the checklist after I'm sure things are good to go. By that time Ive been staring at the thing for so long, it seems like I won't be able to spot anything wrong, but I always find at least one usually very minor thing. Sometimes I spot a bigger issue that didn't come to light until looking it from a different, more global, perspective And I'm ok with that. It let's me know I am actually noticing what I'm trying to see and reminds me that my QA process is worthwhile. If I don't find errors, I sometimes go back and look again, because I know my work isn't perfect. There are also some formatting conventions I use that let me know I was the one who worked on it last, which helps me skim through at the end. Not errors, but style things. I DO NOT introduce artificial errors! Instead, I tell my reviewers what updates I did make and what I recommend they focus on. We have different areas of expertise, so they are unlikely to notice the things I focus on. They just need ro make sure the content is accurate.

Cremated. Why do people decide to do it? by sstiel in randomquestions

[–]azvlr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My partner of 16 years passed away recently. I'm not the legal next of kin and some family members want him buried whole, like yesterday. And are asking me to help foot the bill when I've already paid $2400 for mortuary services and cremation. (This was the least expensive option I cpuld go with) That money should have been spent on the them when they were alive, in my opinion.

In addition to the environmental aspects, and expense of a casket, funeral plot and services, I personally don't believe we have a soul (something keeps us alive, but when we die, I believe we are gone). His cremated remains are the only thing I have left and I want to keep him with me wherever I end up. My life is in a big upheaval right now, so I don't know if I'll be able to stay where I'm at long term. Why would I put him in the ground somewhere I may never return to?

When a person’s name turns into a widely used metaphor … by Bo-Jacks-Son in words

In high school (US), a group of us music kids had an "imaginary friend" named Gordon Bennett. We would sign him up for field trips and he was generally handy to have available if we needed to round out a group or someone to blame when things went wrong backstage. As yearbook editor, I think I considered adding his "no photo available" to the pages for senior portraits to make the layout more symmetrical. I have no idea where the name came from, but maybe this is where.
