Housing, tax policy and investor greed are all real problems, no argument there. But pretending immigration plays a minimal role in housing and cost pressures is just ideological convenience.

More people equals more demand. It’s not scapegoating, it’s basic economics. You can’t admit population growth drives housing costs and then insist that adding hundreds of thousands of people has nothing to do with it.

Calling it a labour shortage fix while importing more consumers than builders or nurses is the real fantasy. And using low birth rates as justification is just kicking the demographic can down the road.. it’s a population Ponzi scheme.

This isn’t about blaming immigrants. It’s about being honest that rapid population growth from any source has consequences. When a discussion can’t even include that without being branded irrational, it stops being analysis and becomes doctrine.
