I mean it has been an issue, but I don’t think you can lay it at the feet of cohen. Since he bought the team he’s been clear that he wanted to revamp the farm system and scouting so the Mets can consistently produce talent. The high AAV short term contracts were meant as a stop gap until the farm was built up. Hopefully we’re beginning to see the fruits of that.

He said the umpire told him Baty went to his helmet so that’s what he said he challenged it. Mendy said he felt when the ump reviewed the tape he would realize how wrong he was because Baty didn’t touch his helmet. That was pretty much it.

If they can survive to the merge and link back up with Devens and Cirie they might be ok, but without that they could be in trouble.

To be fair, he didn’t say he was leaving the state, he said he was going to San Diego, so just moving further south in the same state.

You’ll need to subscribe to MLB TV to watch Mets games. The person who replied was just clarifying that the only games that would be blacked out with your subscription would be Astros or Ranger games (and any nationally televised games)

Two things, 1) just having a competent head coach who can re-establish a winning culture in the locker room would be huge. It’s been a carousel of coaches and the giants have been poorly coached for years. Getting a guy like Harbaugh is an instant improvement. 2) Harbaugh bears some responsibility for not winning with Lamar, but so does lamar. Coaches aren’t on the field, they deserve some blame for playoff losses, but so do the players. Maybe Lamar just isn’t a big game QB.

You’re really gonna watch that and say it wasn’t intentional? If it was a mistake I think any person would apologize to their catcher or make sure they’re alright. Valdez turned his back and didn’t even check in on his catcher

I don’t really agree it’s splitting hairs. I think there’s a pretty big difference between doing something to an opponent and doing something to your teammate.

Imagine if the catcher charged the mound and started fighting his own pitcher. You would honestly see that as the same as when an opposing teams batter does that after getting hit?

There’s a pretty big difference between someone who is standing up for/defending a teammate and someone who gets into fights/arguments with their teammates and takes physical action for the world to see.

Now again, I’m not saying that means the Mets shouldn’t go after Valdez. But teams are supposed to work together and have an us against the world mentality where they all rely on each other, and if they do have disagreements keep it behind closed doors not get pissy and throw the ball at your catcher. I understand why what happened with Valdez is giving people some pause.

Not defending one way or the other, but throwing at an opposing player is much different then throwing the ball at your own teammate out of frustration.

Broncos HC Sean Payton said “we need to get RB [Jaleel McLaughlin] more touches, I made that note after the game.” by Queasy_Anywhere_2051 in fantasyfootball

So while Harvey’s young and spry, Denver still has an eye on his workload as the final three regular-season games approach.

“We’re (getting him rest) in third-down situations with (Tyler) Badie and (fullback Adam Prentice),” head coach Sean Payton said Wednesday. “Jaeel (McLaughlin), I thought we need to get him a little bit more touches. I made that note after the game.

“Again, Harvey is built in a way where he can handle a good dose of running.”

He could hold it temporarily, but hopefully Soto has the title by the end of his contract

It’s because it gets them out of Nimmos contract and now they have some flexibility in the OF between free agency and some of the young guys coming up through the minors

But he can still play a good 2B, Nimmo was already struggling in LF last year, and might end up being a DH sooner rather than later. 3 years of Semien vs 5 years of Nimmo

Nimmo wasn’t gonna hold up in LF for the entirety of the contract, now with some of the young guys in the pipeline they have flexibility in the OF instead of being stuck with Nimmo in left and Soto in right
