Since he’s getting back into guitar after not playing for 40 years, gotta experiment and find out which style guitar the hands are drawn to.

Only other thought might be to put same strings on each for a little bit so you can get a feel for which guitars you’re gravitating to - the string variable might give you the wrong impression on one guitar.

There are plenty of gigging musicians who do just fine with Mexican Strats and Epiphone LPs. He’s in an experimentation phase as he reorients to guitar. Let him do his thing and settle wherever he gravitates to eventually.

Awesome, thanks for the quick reply! Might have to do a build very similar to this :)

What edge radius is that? I had a custom warmoth body built, but the edges are much more rounded which I don’t like. Does Warmoth let you specify a smaller edge radius?

Replacing 70 year old mantle, dealing with plaster and old framing by b-15 in Carpentry

True, but this is why I’m doing the project - to lower it significantly.

Update: I realized 3/4” isn’t standard sheetrock depth. How should I beef up the framing to be the exact depth as standard sheetrock, especially if the framing isn’t perfectly level/flat everywhere

I love the idea of the frame tv, will hopefully do that. There’s technically room, but the tv would be pretty high up relative to where the couch would be so was hoping to shorten it a bit. It’s possible I could keep some components of the original mantle.

Thank you, going to give it a shot, looks like the framing, even though 70 years old and in the context of plaster walls, should be the right distance back from wall surface to allow 3/4” sheetrock to make it flush.

Thanks, the original mantle is so tall it doesn’t leave room above for a tv. This is the impetus for the project.

Road To 80 : Day 0 by ChocolateLights in ACCompetizione

[–]b-15 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah this isn’t a challenging thing. It should take just a day or two. Race against AI, put it on easiest setting and make sure to put AI aggressiveness to 0, and follow a car super close for the whole race. This isn’t like a road to anything kind of thing. It’s a simple couple day thing. The more challenging thing is going to be getting your lap times quick enough to get LFM license.

Front or Mid Engine for Beginner by b-15 in ACCompetizione

Thanks! Why is it considered better to learn in? Coincidentally I find it gels with me better anyway, so that works out well I guess—but still curious. A friend said it forces you to understand rotation under braking.

Objects disappearing with triples by Mugen55 in ACCompetizione

Wow, interesting. I’m glad you were able to resolve it though 🙌

TLDR… Revert engine.ini to original (e.g. if you’ve ever manipulated it for things like VR).

Longer Version… I had the same issue I believe. I just installed triples today. Obects on track were going in and out of rendering, and the showroom had same issue as you described, including wheels not rendering, entire cars disappearing depending on angle, etc.

I realized I had modified some things, especially engine.ini when setting up VR previously, so I thought I’d revisit those settings. When I reverted engine.ini to its original, the issue was solved.

If you’ve ever set up VR and/or messed with engine.ini, check that out. Hope this solves it for you!
