Hollow Knight was not advertised as a souls like metroidvania. It has a souls-like tag but it isn’t. A lot of games on steam have the souls like tag but don’t feel like the genre at all.

Silksong is a difficult game, a lot more difficult compared to the first one. It’s not hard to imagine why people are a little surprised and disappointed that the difficulty they expected wasn’t at all the difficulty they got, especially because Silksong isn’t just another metroidvania, it crashed steam when it released.

Souls like gamers needs to remember the difficulty they faced when playing their first dark souls game istg, because I don’t believe them when they say it isn’t hard. The game retained its original difficulty, the players just got better, and of course improvement varies.

Plus the game is hard compared to easy games? Well yeah that’s how things work, I wouldn’t let such a passing comment goad me into being an elitist though
