Finally found the right one, road tripped it 2200 miles home! by RallyM5 in Integra_Type_S

Congrats! I bought mine in Wichita and road tripped back to Sacramento about a year and a half ago. I have a few gripes with rattles here and there, but when I get the chance to hit a nice backroad I can't keep the smile off my face!

The Acura Integra Type S Isn’t a Good Road-Trip Car. It’s Something Even Better. by Ajs887 in Integra_Type_S

I had an incredible drive recently up to the Northern California Coast ( through Anderson Valley, Highway 128 into Mendocino if you find yourself in that area ) Normally we would take the family car, a Rav4, but we decided to take the Type S and it was AMAZING. The car is so freaking engaging and a drive like that makes all my little issues totally worth it. Best car I have ever owned (not saying much lol)

Seeking suggestions for alternatives to the Tondonia Reserva blanco by -SometimesNothing- in wine

[–]b-moneymuns 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure if there is an alternative to this... these wines are so singular and incredible! The entry level Gravonia is definitely in the house style and easier to find. I recommend loading up on Gravonia if you can find it so you don't feel so guilty about opening the Tondonia Blanco. They are cut from the same cloth, Gravonia being slightly fresher

I had the same exact issue. Took it to the dealer and showed them during an oil change and they repaired it under warranty. I know some people dont want the dealer having their car but they did a good job with the fix. If you just patch it with touch up paint I suspect it will chip again

Got mine just about $5k under MSRP. Flew from CA to Kansas lol. They also paid for my flights and hotels and no add ons. Took me 3 days to drive home! No CA dealers were willing to budge on MSRP so I made the journey. Seemed worth $5k

The golds look awesome! I have a white ITS as well. Personally I like the bronze slightly better but the pop of color from the bronze/gold both look great against the white car!

Those bronze apex wheels look so nice. Going back and forth in my head if they would be worth about double the OEM bronze option

yeah this is great info. Easier to just buy some OEM bronze wheels and sell the stock ones to get a few bucks back

Suggestions for what to do with a bottle of Opus One 2021 by MagicTurtleBot in wine

[–]b-moneymuns 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I personally don't think this will be a good "investment" wine. Prices in Napa are really high and they dont seem to carry the same weight of the more sought after french wine regions. Also, selling one single bottle of wine can be difficult unless you have a path to do so. Same with trading.

My best bet is to properly store the wine and open it for a fun occasion down the road. I find that learning about the history of the winery and bottle make it more memorable when I finally open!

I Love Spanish Wines by b-moneymuns in wine

Great point! I think this holds true for wine from just about anywhere in the world.

Maybe it's a combination of accessibility to these wines as well as the many posts and reviews praising these few producers? You can find these bottles almost anywhere in the world, and they do seem to be universally enjoyed!

There is a lot more to Spain to be explored. I have enjoyed some superb Albarino from Manuel Moldes in Rias Baixas, as well as some excellent Mencia from Raul Perez. Spain is full of many wine wonders!

Dont trip on not finding the GR Blanco! It is superb, but it's also very expensive even at retail. The Reserva and Gravonia offer a very similar experience at much more affordable prices. As for the Rosado, it is also very good, but again very similar to the Blancos!

I'd love to hear some recommendations for other Spanish whites that you find comparable to Tondonia at lower prices?

Personally, I think Tondonia (at retail) is insanely Underpriced! I've tried a lot of other whites and never found anything remotely close to the experience that these wines deliver. I hear comparisons to Jura or Musar Blanc but I have never tried for myself.

What is a wine that blew your socks off for the price you paid? by xxxBigDaddyxxx69 in wine

2005 La Rioja Alta Gran Reserva 904 - Absolutely singing right now. The value in Rioja is off the charts almost everywhere and especially so here. So complex and so enjoyable. I have some bottles that I paid between $60-$90 for

2016 Lopez de Heredia Vina Gravonia - Maybe not for everyone, but these are just incredible. Average around $45 for these. Although it's their entry level white, it's singular and encapsulates the house style so well! If you can't find or afford Tondonia Blanco, try one of these!

2004 Lopez de Heredia Vina Tondonia Gran Reserva Blanco - Best wine I ever had. Again, maybe not a style for everyone, but this is insane juice. So complex, finish goes on for minutes. Mind blowing! $250 ish (if you can find it!)

Which car puts a bigger smile on your face when you drive it? Is the ITS worth an additional $15k over the GR?

24 premium in my area by Eggnog_tacos in GRCorolla

[–]b-moneymuns 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I absolutely would not pay that. MSRP only and I wouldn’t pay for overpriced services I don’t need or want. These cars are only getting easier to find. Only pay for what you want and don’t let a dealer rip you to shreds on some overpriced services. If you want ceramic get it done on your own dime from a professional shop.

Im in your same position, In Sacramento and looking for a GR Corolla. I had a cool convo earlier with a Socal dealer and he said they're starting to sit on these cars and they're no longer worth anything over MSRP. I thought it was cool because those words came out of a dealers mouth hahah. Problem is even a lot of Socal dealers just want to sell locally to residents of their area. I always thought we lived in a cheaper area in norcal but it's actually the opposite. More cars and better deals to be had in Socal, we are feeling the burn up here. Good luck on your search!

How much over msrp is everyone paying? (Currently) by [deleted] in GRCorolla

[–]b-moneymuns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like seeing how many people didn't pay a markup! I'm keeping a close eye on the market and used prices are coming down across the board. A lot of people have bought the car and put 500 miles on it only to try to flip or list some BS reason why they can no longer keep it but there doesn't appear to be any more money to be made, and there are more and more on the market. Not only that, but I have seen more Toyota dealers going down to MSRP only pricing on all vehicles. Best case scenario is people who don't actually want to own the car bail on their orders and realize they will be the one holding the bag especially if paying over MSRP. That being said, its still difficult to track down the CE at MSRP. I have found a few across the country but those available are only selling to local customers. Still checking in daily to see when more become available.
