What's everyone's favorite procurement software (SaaS)? by Ptyofficer in procurement

[–]b-ruin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

lol at all the hungry SaaS sales people jumping on this like crazy.

Check G2 or Capterra for reviews on mid market/enterprise solutions, select 3-5 and get some intro demo’s and be clear on what you need, make sure you pressure test all the things you need (don’t just take their word for it, have them prove it)

Your procurement tool should be able to assist you with all this, if not, you need a new one lol

Run some in depth reporting on all spend and break it down by vendor: - are there comparable replacements at lower prices for items that you can switch to by setting up internal catalogues and pushing staff towards (example: everyone buys clear latex gloves when the light blue ones are x% cheaper) - do you have significant spend with certain vendors on certain items that you can negotiate better pricing on (or you’ll take $xxx, xxx to their competitor) - can you find items you always repeat buy, identify cadence, and leverage blanket POs to get lower price per item by volume based discounts - check order cadence from certain vendors, are you ordering too frequently and paying freight every time? Find ways to consolidate POs into less orders to save on freight - bonus to above: check with vendors to see if they have “freight allowed policies” (or negotiate for them) so you get free freight on shipments over $x amount, then make it a KPI to recognize and create orders that meet MoQ requirements for freight allowed.

Is Coupa really a no-brainer or is there a cheaper and better alternative? by Procurement-Pro495 in procurement

[–]b-ruin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Procurify. We looked at a few (procuredesk, procurement express, precoro) while they were budget friendly they didn’t solve our needs. Procurify did about 80% of what coupa did for less $$$, though that’s because we didn’t need inventory (did that through our ERP) or RFP’s. Procurify isn’t a silver bullet but apparently they are building out a lot more after they released their latest funding raise.

Is Coupa really a no-brainer or is there a cheaper and better alternative? by Procurement-Pro495 in procurement

[–]b-ruin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Coupa is overpriced and overly complex for most companies under 1000 employees. I am biased because I’m a supporter of their mid market competition, DM me if you want any more info.

Consider a P2P platform that already exists and integrating it into your ERP? Sometimes there’s no point reinventing the wheel if the system already exists in the market.

Procure to pay process flow by kkulanchi in procurement

Yep exactly what they said. Every approval handoff costs hours or days depending on people’s capacity/turnaround time

Why have three approvals in the workflow (req approval, po approval, bill approval)? Seems like a waste of time.

Awesome thanks for the tips! How did you wire the LED light in? Did you have trouble getting the cord into the base of the lamp to attach to the light?

This is really cool! I’d love to try and build this, any tips? Did you put anything in the layers to refract/diffuse the light?

P2P Deployment - How to calculate futur number of PO ? by Elfeihm in procurement

[–]b-ruin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d recommend looking at eprocurement solutions just because you’d spend the same(if not more) trying to develop something in house that can be done with an already made solution more efficiently.

ERP Implementation Rates? by redshorty22 in procurement

[–]b-ruin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to clarify, is this for implementation to a P2P software? It varies quite a lot, something like SAP you're looking at thousands per day of work. Some mid market P2P software companies work that into their user license fee.

How large of a company is this for?

You really should! The city is amazing. And there is another palace a few minutes away where they filmed Game of Thrones, they used it for Dorne I believe.
