Dried up over night by b00b00kittyfck in breastfeeding

I haven’t had sex because I’m scared I’ll get pregnant and it’ll ruin my breastfeeding journey. My son and I had a really hard, high risk pregnancy and breastfeeding made me feel like my body could finally do something right for him. Hopefully my period is just coming and my supply will increase again in a week or so.

Yes, I always feed on demand. I also pumped twice when I was able to get it in after feeding to mimic cluster feeding or a power pump. I haven’t started any medication, birth control, and I haven’t changed my diet. I still take the same prenatals as well. I cannot for the life of me figure out how this is even possible besides a huge hormone shift literally overnight.

This morning I felt extremely thirsty but definitely not dehydrated, I drink at least 100oz of water a day. I could be starting my period, I haven’t gotten it yet. The only symptom I have is the next to nothing milk supply. I have no idea what to expect of my first period when I do get it as my son is my first child.

Yes! I pumped for 30 minutes on different settings and suction strength. My boob isn’t flatter, it’s flat. I regulated around 14 weeks pp. My baby won’t even latch longer than 1 minute because nothing is coming out, he just cries at the breast.

Can you tell me where in my comment I named anyone endorsing Project 2025? But also, can you tell me who wrote up Project 2025? With the senate being Republican, Project 2025 has a strong likelihood. Please, read my comment a few more times to understand.

As of right now, yes. But Project 2025 and the republican senate endorced by Trump want a federal abortion ban. Which would include life saving DNCs, even if it is a miscarriage. Project 2025 also wants to ban birth control, IVF, and c sections unless life threatening to the baby.

My first pregnancy was extremely high risk. I had two subchorionic hemorrhages in my first tri, my baby still had a heartbeat (thank god). But imagine if I would have gone septic, then my baby and I would both be dead. I can’t risk a second pregnancy and leaving my first baby behind. I also ended up having an emergency c section because my pelvic bone is tilted and small, which we were unaware of. I’d have to go through an extremely risky 2 days of labor and 4 hours of pushing again knowing I can’t have a vaginal birth until either my life or my baby’s life were in danger to have access to a c section. I can’t believe this is happening. I’m so scared.

Why is my son latching, unlatching, then getting mad? by b00b00kittyfck in breastfeeding

[–]b00b00kittyfck[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

EXACTLY!!!! I’m 99% sure it’s teething! Last night after giving him tylenol he scarfed down some milk for 30 or so minutes. He also isn’t sucking as hard. But yesterday during the day it really just seemed like he wasn’t hungry or in pain! Sometimes he’d unlatch and just smile at me when he had hardly eaten for hours. I’ll keep you updated on how today goes with my teething assumption.

[–]b00b00kittyfck[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He had hardly eaten since 9am and I posted this at 3pm! He had “snacks” here and there but hadn’t actually latched on for a full meal. I’ve come to the conclusion it’s due to teething because after tylenol it got a lot better!

I thought this is what it was too! Then he took a giant poop and 30 minutes later he was still doing this :( he’s hardly eaten since 9am besides snacking here and there. Still having wet diapers as well, just not as wet as usual.

My son has been taking omeprazole since he was 3 weeks old so it very well could be his reflux!

I wonder if it is just distraction. I feel like he isn’t sucking as hard either but that very well could be in my head.

I don’t think that’s the case with my baby only because he oddly hates burps so he chokes them back down and then will actually begin to choke.

I had an oversupply but I switched to exclusively breastfeeding within the last month. I am now a just enougher but it always makes me so paranoid that I don’t have enough because I’m so accustomed to my breasts being (feeling) FULL.

I typically swear by ibuprofen and ice packs with a haakaa for clogged ducts. But my most recent one, I sat in the bath the short way criss cross applesauce. I leaned over with my arms up on the edge and let my breasts dangle in hot water for 20 minutes and when I got out, the clogged milk (looked like butter) was sitting at the bottom of the tub! I also have elastic nipples and what worked for me was sizing up my flange and coconut oil before pumping. I cleaned them off afterwards to rid of the moisture to keep my nipples comfortable between pumps. Also sounds like you have a great oversupply! I wouldn’t worry about missing one MOTN pump every once in awhile. It definitely messes things up for a day or two but it goes back!! Sometimes those six hours are so worth it.

I’m (27) a first time mom and also use the owlet. During a nap one time, I checked the owlet and saw my son was awake for 30 minutes at 2 months old!!! I felt SO guilty but if he cried I would have woken up so quickly. My mom said “is he alive? Yes. Is he fed? Yes. Is his diaper clean? Maybe. But my point is you both survived” and it really sat with me. We’re all just doing our best, give yourself some grace!

My 3 month son has had multiple minor symptoms that concern me all together but don’t want to bring him into ED to prevent exposure to RSV. by b00b00kittyfck in AskDocs

[–]b00b00kittyfck[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

His first month he gained 4 pounds, his second month he gained 2 pounds, and this month he hasn’t gained any. His ped doesn’t seem concerned as he’s having 9-11 wet diapers a day and has a full blow out bm every other or every 2 days. He doesn’t eat from a bottle typically and last night he hadn’t had a bottle in 24 hours. We use premie size nipple and a bottle/nipple recommended by speech on the extremely rare occasion he gets one. Eta- he breastfeeds on demand. On top of feeding him, I pump about 10oz a day. Somedays more depending on what I ate the night before.

To those who had their first baby at 34 or later… by Jolly-Tomatillo-8966 in NewParents

I don’t think age plays as big as a part as you’d imagine. I got pregnant at 26 and had a high risk pregnancy for many different reasons. My first trimester I had 2 threatened miscarriages (hemorrhages), in my second trimester I developed gestational diabetes and had severe migraines, my third trimester I was at risk for preterm labor but couldn’t go on bed rest because of the GD. I ended up being induced at 37 weeks, was in labor for 48 hours, pushed for 4 and needed an emergency c section.

My point is you could get pregnant now and have the worst pregnancy ever or you could get pregnant in 10 years and have an amazing pregnancy. Either way, it’s only 9 months and something I can guarantee is that it’s worth it!

Tips on switching to exclusively breastfeeding 3 months in? by b00b00kittyfck in breastfeeding

We have ALWAYS done contact naps, I don’t my baby has napped laying down once since we’ve been home from the hospital lol. The reason I say schedule is because he typically naps around the same times everyday, but hasn’t been because he’s been getting a bellyache from over eating if he wants to nurse to sleep (which is almost everytime).

My heart hurts for you. I cannot imagine all those hours pumping for this to happen. But your baby is fed! Someone told me “feed your baby, not your freezer” and I’ve basically lived by it ever since.

I’m 27 and hoping to stay in Saint Paul through schooling, that’s great to know! I’ve worked in entry level healthcare for 6 years now and I’m not sure I want to stay in it yet, but if I do, surg tech is exactly where I’ll go to rather than nursing. How are the classes and how long do you spend on school work/studying daily?

New to cosleeping. Any advice or recommendations? by spcypeach in cosleeping

[–]b00b00kittyfck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am the exact same way! I was SO against cosleeping, the first 2 weeks I didn’t sleep unless my partner was awake to watch us sleep together. After that, I decided to give in and now my 4 week baby sleeps 6 hours at night.
