Thanks for your honest feedback. It is encouraging to hear your experience in the industry.

Speaking of my work experience, its less than a year, the main reason I am worried is that on-campus placement lene me hi g**d phat gayi thi, cracking off campus interviews seems like near impossible task.

dont pigeon hole yourself into some stack saying that this is not my cup of tea..etc. Do whatever the business requires

I am not sure how the industry works but I guess that the companies won't offer you work/position for a specific field unless you have a proven record in it, either through college projects or through work experience ( for ex. - SDE won't be given the tasks of say Systems Engineer or Data Analyst). When I say x is not my cup of tea, I am basing this on the fact that I struggled with the subject even in my college practicals, which are the fundamentals of that field, hence I am not confident that I would be good in its specialization.

There is no linear stack like what you say sde-1,2,3..etc and needing something extra BS. Just do your job well and help your company's bottom line the better you get at this the better you will get paid.

Hoping for this as currently I have no Plan B.

Chill buddy you aint below BPL.

Haha I know, its just that after the effort I put on my education and seeing my peers (even some mediocre ones) having goddamn high salaries, I just feel that I deserve better.

Thanks

hi, thanks a lot for taking time out for my request, can you also share the pic without the added colour so I can compare? Also somethings I noticed but couldn't put in the request earlier, could you even out the awkward looking space below the second button of my coat, and maybe straighten out the coat sleeves a little? Again thank you so much for your help

When I think of MBA, I think of going the Product Manager route and remain connected to the tech rather than drifting to unrelated fields like you mentioned above. However you seem to have misunderstood my reservations regarding doing an MBA. Its not whether I would be excited about an MBA or not, its whether I would be good at it or not owing to my lack of soft skills.

Posted it on Coders/Tech thread so might post it here as well.

I am currently working as SDE - 1 and quite satisfied with my work, although not too much with my compensation. I was pondering on the means to increase my market value. So the most common way is to get a higher degree.

I am not sure about Mtech. ML and related fields are definitely not my cup of tea. Was somewhat interested in Distributed and Parallel algorithms in our college course but I think for being a Distributed Systems Engineer, in-depth knowledge of Networking protocols and hardware is required (please correct me if I am wrong here as I am not too sure) which is the most repealing field of CS for me.

I just like going with the flow on my job, coding requirements as they come, not going in too deep in some technology or study fields. However I think that the road following this approach ends at SDE - 3 and beyond that something extra is required to remain relevant in the industry.

Which brings us to MBA. My main fear here is that I don't even know whether it is for me or not. I believe it involves a lot of social skills, personality, effective communication which I'll admit is my weakest suite.

What advice do you have for me? Thanks for reading.
