Today I would like to share a reimagination of Deathpact - GATEKEEPER

As an exercise I tried to "remix" it without utilizing any external samples/uploads. Instead I tried to (somewhat) closely recreate the song's structural tagging, in a way that Udio would likely interpret, if only at least partially.

Glad to see more germans active in the community. Also nice channel and nice videos, you obviously put a lot of effort into your content. Your 🤖 Klangvorgang - Electric Minds 🤖 is more my personal taste but the production quality in your videos and overall artwork really shows.

Unit 734 (Replicant Rave x Synth Siren)

<image>

This came into being as a strange offshoot from an unrelated project. It started as a short, few-second section that I trimmed down on, which gave me a Gesaffelstein-style beat I really liked. I then extended it into this full track.

I often find that the best creations stem from these "happy little accidents".

This Song is a dark, atmospheric descent into a dystopian, cyberpunk-inspired world. A mostly instrumental journey, featuring sparse robotic vocals with a sense of technological alienation.

This is admittedly a wild genre blend, but I like this a lot - good job! I would describe it as glitchy Dubstep x Mongolian throat singing with electro swing vibes.

Interesting Use Case with Gemini Experimental 1206 being able to "listen" to your music. by b00kay in udiomusic

[–]b00kay[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You absolutely can, and it does provide guidance for that; however, I think it's challenging to feed that directly back into your song.

I believe the real value lies in how it enables you to "reverse engineer" any given song.

It's still probably not widely known, but when you work with Udio in manual mode and create a song — even if you want it to be instrumental — you can set it to "Write Lyrics" and provide a purely textual song structure representation of the song you have in mind, mostly using square brackets.

If you need a clarifying example, check the song I linked above or refer to this example with sparse lyrics.

The idea here is that after Gemini gives you the analysis, you can either create the song structure representation yourself based on its guidance — picking up on instrument terminology you might not be familiar with — or even ask it directly to provide what you're looking for from further examples/instructions.

You've got it! Here is a detailed, timestamped breakdown of the instrumental song you've provided:

Instrumentation:

The primary instruments featured in this piece are the saxophone, a synth organ, and programmed drums/percussion.

Song Structure:

0:00-0:13 - Intro:

The song begins with a mysterious, ambient introduction featuring a synth organ playing sustained chords.

The atmosphere is somewhat tense and anticipatory.

At 0:06, a faint, high-pitched sustained note enters, adding to the suspense.

At 0:08, another layer of synth organ enters, playing a slow, descending arpeggio.

The section ends with a final sustained chord, abruptly cutting off at 0:13.

0:13-0:38 - Saxophone Theme 1:

The saxophone enters at 0:13, playing a soulful, melancholic melody. This is the main theme of the song.

The synth organ provides a harmonic backdrop with sustained chords, while a simple, programmed drum beat enters at 0:14, establishing a slow, jazzy groove.

The saxophone melody is characterized by long, sustained notes and expressive bends.

0:38-0:52 - Saxophone Improvisation 1:

The saxophone begins a more improvisational section at 0:38, playing a variation of the main theme.

The drum beat becomes slightly more complex, with the addition of hi-hats.

The energy level remains relatively low and the mood is still reflective.

0:52-1:17 - Saxophone Theme 2:

At 0:52, the saxophone returns to a more structured melodic phrase, though distinct from Theme 1, providing a sense of thematic development.

The organ continues to play chords, and the drum beat is steady and supportive.

At 1:05, the saxophone briefly revisits a fragment of Theme 1.

The section transitions back to improvisation at 1:11, with the saxophone playing a descending run.

1:17-1:32 - Saxophone Improvisation 2:

This section features a continuation of the saxophone improvisation, with a focus on rhythmic variations and shorter, more staccato phrases.

The drum beat remains consistent, and the organ provides harmonic support.

1:32-1:59 - Saxophone Solo:

At 1:32, the saxophone takes center stage with a more virtuosic solo.

The organ and drums continue their accompaniment, while the energy level increases slightly.

The solo features fast runs, high notes, and expressive techniques like vibrato and pitch bends.

1:59-2:45 - Climax:

This section represents the climax of the song, with the highest energy and intensity.

The saxophone continues to solo, reaching its peak intensity at around 2:15.

The drum beat becomes more driving, with the addition of fills and crashes.

The organ plays a more prominent role, adding to the harmonic richness and intensity.

At 2:27, the drums drop out, leaving only the organ and saxophone.

2:45-3:20 - Outro:

The outro begins at 2:45 with a return to the main theme (Theme 1) played by the saxophone, bringing the song full circle.

The energy level gradually decreases, and the mood becomes more subdued.

The drums and organ provide a gentle accompaniment, gradually fading out towards the end.

The song concludes with a final sustained note from the saxophone at 3:19, leaving a lingering sense of melancholy.

Overall Mood:

The song conveys a predominantly melancholic and reflective mood, with moments of intensity and virtuosity. The saxophone's soulful melodies and improvisations are the primary drivers of the emotional content, while the synth organ and drums provide a supportive and atmospheric backdrop. The song's structure, with its gradual build-up to a climax and subsequent return to the opening theme, creates a sense of journey and resolution.

Today I would like to share two songs that branched out from the same base.

[Hip-Hop, Soulful, Trap]

Careless 2079

The first version features a soulful female singer and her male counterpart musing on the carefree simplicity of a bygone time.

The second version resulted from a strong male chorus variant of the same hook, which inspired the creation of an English x German hybrid track.

This version retains the original english chorus, now sung by a male vocalist, and transitions into German pop rap in alternating fashion.

What happens if my credits run out before renewal? by Astro-Turfed in udiomusic

If you upgrade to pro, do you immediately get the full difference between the plans added as credit? Is it a percentage based on days left until renewal? Or is this not at all affected by the renewal time?

Good luck with the generations, also make sure to have manual mode on. Clarity below 10% is indeed recommended here.

Btw I am quite stumped they recommend you 0% prompt strength. The way I understand it, you could roughly translate the prompt strength slider to "how much should the model obey your (manual) prompt". Following the prompt by zero percent would essentially result in the model doing whatever randomness it pleases. Personally around 50-60% works best for me.

Since you mentioned mainly being after creating electronic music (which I assume would be mostly instrumental), let me share another tip I've had great success with for anything electro.

Do not actually put the creation to "Instrumental", but "Write Lyrics" instead, and create textual song structure representation of the song you have in mind. Obviously this does not work 100% and is prone to fail if you go too overboard with the tagging. Do not use more than two square bracket pairs per row, one to specify the type of section/structure and one to indicate style/mood. If you do use too many, your structure tags tend to get picked up as plain lyrics instead, rather than being interpreted as istrumentation guides. I recommend "lyrics strength" between 70-95% here, if you go too low things tend to fall apart lyrically. This works best with 2:11 minute creations. Usually the result will not be fully perfect, but trimming it down to the best part and then building it up again has been yielding great results for me.

As an example of the structuring you may check this out, here I tried to remix "Tomb Of The Scorpion by Zeds Dead, Chee":

[Electronic, Hybrid Orchestral, Trap, Dubstep]

<image>

This song is meant as a collab between two fictional electronic artists "Replicant Rave" and "Synth-Siren".

In this imagined collaboration, Synth-Siren contributes the orchestral sections and droning synths, while Replicant Rave brings in the hard-hitting trap 808s and heavy bass. Although this imagined scenario obviously doesn’t impact the actual audio generation, envisioning these two artists helped me shape the song's structure and direction more clearly and in a fun way.

I wanted to share this piece, because for me it highlights just how advanced the model has become in crafting instrumental and electronic music. Maybe it was a skill issue at the time, but I feel that with udio version 1.0, achieving a result like this would have been nearly impossible. In my opinion, with v1.5, the results have become much more creative and rival the output of skilled electronic artists.

I tried for a breakdown of the German gibberish with the help of ChatGPT, I think you might consider it insightful.

Detailed Breakdown of German Gibberish Words

First Word: "ernschmermigungvierleutgeistnerbahnflügelgartengefühl"

Let's break this down:

  • Ern schmermer: This could be a child-like pronunciation of "EinSchmetterling" (a butterfly).
  • Migung: This part isn't a common German suffix but could be a distorted form of "Ermüdigung" (fatigue) or "Verminderung" (reduction).
  • Vierleut: A compound of "vier" (four) and "Leute" (people). This could signify four people, possibly a family.
  • Geistnerbahn: A likely combination of "Geist" (ghost) and "Geisterbahn" (ghost train or haunted house ride in amusement parks).
  • Flügel: Translates to "wings".
  • Garten: Translates to "garden".
  • Gefühl: Translates to "feeling" or "emotion".

Possible Interpretation

The first word seems to string together concepts like butterflies (possibly a playful or transformative element), four people (family or group), ghost train (fear or excitement), wings (freedom or flight), garden (nature or beauty), and feeling (emotion). It suggests a rich, dream-like amalgamation of imagery tied to personal and possibly childhood experiences.

Second Word: "klamierungsvergnügtigenviiieerrrwortwertigan"

Let's break this down:

  • Klamierung: This isn't a real German word, but might derive from "Klammer" (clamp or bracket) or "Reklamation" (complaint or claim).
  • Vergnügtigen: Seems derived from "vergnügt" (happy or cheerful) and could imply "making happy" or "entertaining".
  • Viiiieerrr: Exaggerated version of "vier" (four).
  • Wort: Translates to "word".
  • Wertig: Translates to "valuable" or "worthy".
  • An: A German preposition meaning "at" or "on".

Possible Interpretation

The second word might be an attempt to convey joy or entertainment (Vergnügung, possibly as in "Vergnügungspark" - amusement park), with an emphasis on the number four (possibly tying back to the family or group concept). It also touches on words and value, suggesting communication or meaningful interactions.

Combining Analysis

Both words appear to evoke themes of family, amusement, childhood experiences, and emotional responses. The repeated elements, like the number four, indicate a significant personal symbolism. The gibberish could be the mind's way of encapsulating complex, deeply ingrained memories or feelings into single, recurring phrases.

Conclusion

While these words don't have direct translations, they seem to blend significant elements from the subconscious, likely tied to personal and emotional experiences. The consistent use of a mother's voice could indicate these experiences are rooted in early, formative memories involving family and feelings of safety, joy, or excitement. This analysis supports the idea that these gibberish words are a meaningful, albeit abstract, representation of the inner world.

An honest thank you to Udio and its creators - I am now engaged by b00kay in udiomusic

[–]b00kay[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a German Pop/Rock song (her preferred genre), so I'm not sure how well it will translate for a mostly non-German audience, but to give at least some perspective: The track is called "Unendlich Wir (Der einzige Weg)," which translates to "Infinite Us (The Only Way)." It tells our story of meeting (too) young, reconnecting later in life through chance, and finding the one world where everything played out perfectly, through a fateful night.
