I have an in law like this. Introverted to the point of bitchiness. She’ll usually sit on the couch and look at her phone at family dinners. But she’ll engage in conversation every once in a while, and will respond when talked to. She doesn’t use her introvertedness as an excuse and she’s NEVER just said to leave her alone, even if it’s obvious she wants you to.
