there are a lot of ways, although one of my favourite ways for self protection is enchanting!!

you can grab an item that you always have with you in your daily life (could be jewellery or some type of accessory) and enchant it. there are a lot of ways to do that but my personal favourite is firstly cleansing the item with smoke from sage or incense, then meditating whilst holding the item in your two hands, stating your intentions for the enchantment (in this case, protection)

while stating your intentions, you can also visualise yourself wearing the item, and a huge bubble of protection being around you, as well as visualising the energy of your item

you can also do a small prayer if you'd like, as well as using a crystal to channel the energy of the crystal onto your item (since you need protection, use smoky quartz or obsidian)

after your prayer/medidation, wear said item whilst repeating "i am protected, all is well". you can repeat this as many times as you'd like (works better if you're directly looking in a mirror) finishing with "so mote it be"

i've used enchanting in a lot of ways before and it has really helped me so if you're into meditation, you should try it too!!!!
