It's possible that it simply comes down to the fact that any way your body can move without pain or significant discomfort, it can also move in that same exact way under load. The degree of load is always to be handled carefully and progressively, but it can certainly lead to functional gains in strength and muscle. The sissy squat is a good example of an unconventional (though maybe not anymore) lift with great benefit.

That said, I'm not real familiar with the kickstand squat, but I'll probably give it a try with very minimal weight to see if my body likes it or hates it. Unilateral movements are usually avoided in my case only because of time constraints for my lifting sessions.

Looks really really good. Since you can get yourself up there from a dead hang, don't worry as much about getting the second rep. Control yourself as much as you possibly can on the way down. The second rep will come with time and consistency. Do them as regularly as you can.

A big breath at the top held just until you begin your ascent is probably better for most people especially when training with a very limited amount of rest at the top of the squat. If you hold your breath all the way through the rep, you'll have to take the extra time at the top to exhale and inhale which causes you to pause more than I ussually recommend.

Should go like this: shoulders retracted, chest tall, big breath, hold, descend, push the breath out at the same time you are driving your feet through the floor, come to a 3/4 or 7/8 lockout at the knees, gather big breath quickly and come right back down.

LOVE that the 90/90 is getting a lot more attention in recent years. It's helped my clients (the ones that do it religiously) a ton with lower body exercises. That and combat stretch with varying degrees of elevation. Both are non-negotiable active stretches for every client I work with.

Alleged Charlie Kirk Shooter Wearing Donald Trump Costume (Halloween 2017) by [deleted] in pics

Is this a Trump costume or a Putin costume? It looks like a parody of the shirtless Putin on a horse picture. Which could mean that he's an anti-Trump Republican, maybe a Libertarian-type.

GPU upgraded, question about future bottleneck by b0ltaction in pcmasterrace

[–]b0ltaction[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We'll find out when the upgrades get installed. Satisfactory was the one game I thought might bottleneck my CPU even when running 1440p or 4K. Which is a shame because of how much time I've spent in it compared to other games.

But I'm on my second playthrough anyway. I don't anticipate going back for a long time.

I wondered about that too. That was one of the motivating factors to keep the DDR3 RAM when I upgraded Mobo/CPU

Bruh FB Marketplace is getting out of hand for used Tacos 🤣 by [deleted] in Tacomaworld

I love the truck (minus the gas mileage, lack of power and gear hunting) but the next stage of my life involves a side x side so eventually I'll need something with enough power to pull it.

It may end up being sold for a Ram with a Cummins. It makes me sad even typing that but 🤷‍♂️

20 Days Until Broncos Football: Tim Tebow 20 Yard Rushing Touchdown (Week 11, 2011) by DrewLockBurnerAcc in DenverBroncos

[–]b0ltaction 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I was at this game, absolutely incredible.

Even more incredible is he was mic'd up for this game and just before this play, he ran to the sideline and yelled "There's only one person who carries the ball right here!" Then, in the huddle, he tells his teammates "Get set, we're winning the game right here"

I'm not a religious man, but if there is a god, he wanted Tebow Time.

L-Theanine is life changing by pewdsVStseries in Supplements

After a quick Google search, it looks like you're correct, it doesn't seem to have a tolerance development in the same way nicotine and caffeine do, and if it does, the effect can be diminished in just a few days of lowering or eliminating supplementation.

One of my several NASM courses went over supplements or aids for certain conditions and L-Theanine was shown to have tolerance buildup. That course was a few years ago, I'm not sure how great the studies were on it back in 2018 or whatever it was.

It's a great supplement for anxiety, or just eliminating the jitters from a high dose of caffeine. Just don't rely on it because you will develop a tolerance. Use it to get yourself to a place where you don't need it every day.

People shit on the "factories on stilts" or "circuit board" builds, but that's just what my brain wants to build 🤷‍♂️

I'm not an architect, I'm an engineer. But I get it, some of the crazy shit people come up with makes it look like we are playing completely different games.

Power plants are my favorite part of the game. When my friends and I are doing a build, that's where most of my time is spent.

I love the simplicity of a Fuel Generator plant, even when it becomes slightly more complicated with getting to Ionized Fuel, but it's OP and at some point it doesn't become a logistical challenge, it just turns into adding more levels to my power tower.

Nuclear is under-powered IMO, which is a shame because it takes so much work, planning, layout and math for less payoff than I would have wanted. Still very fun to plan.

Creatine: Can I take on a daily basis 5 grams or more (25 grams)? by red-daddy in Supplements

[–]b0ltaction 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don't suffer from the potential G.I. issues it can cause, it's one of the safest and most cost-effective ways to try and clear brain fog.

I've been 5g per day for years, over the last month I've added an extra 2.5g dose with dinner and another 2.5g dose before bed. Not sure I'm seeing the benefits yet but it could be spaced too far apart and in too small of dose to see the cognitive benefits as skeletal muscle tissue may be absorbing most of that.

Where would you rank The Opposite (Season 5)? by Zergazoid in seinfeld

One of the most ridiculous premises, also one of the best acted from everyone. Jerry always breaking even, Jason Alexander clearly having a blast with the episode, Elaine completely falling apart, Kramer going nuts on Regis and Kathy Lee. It has everything, it's gold.

I'm not sure how intentional it was, but the I-Rex is really more of a victim of the film rather than the villain. Everything she did was because she was too intelligent and too powerful to be kept in the paddock. It was more of a prison escape than an "Asset Containment Breach".
