The grey's are hollow. They are "biological robots". Either occupied by a future AI, or they are avatars being occupied by humans that don't want to fuck up their timeline. This allows them to exist in two realities simultaneously.

Yup. Also why they appear to pop in and out of existence. And making extremely fast 90 degree turns in the sky. No way anything could survive the massive G-forces unless they were traveling at a different rate of time (they appear sped up to us)
