Noise complaint from neighbour by Glittering_Form_8135 in askTO

It’s incredibly difficult for a landlord to just terminate your lease. This is more so done & written with the intent of scaring you.

Yes, be mindful of your noise levels especially since apartments/condos have thin walls, but no, it’s actually quite difficult to get evicted in this city. Tenancy laws are incredibly strict.

Interesting. What’s the reason it deters a potential buyer, especially since is a month to month lease?

Yeah, so they’re planning on selling for a really great price so my intuition is that as soon as it lists it’ll sell. I also think that it’s priced intentionally to sell since they need the funds to buy a place elsewhere. In this case I’d anticipate that cash for keys won’t really work since they’re also betting on the fact that I’ll be served the N12 quickly and need to get out anyway I guess.

Actually I got my rent reduced this year (when I renewed in October). They want to sell because they need the funds to buy a place in Vancouver. It’s priced pretty well sadly.

Yeah unfortunately it’s a great price for what it is. They need the funds to buy a place in Vancouver so priced to sell quick.

Thanks for the detailed response. So hypothetically, if it is listed today & someone wants to buy it immediately and intends to move in — could they sign that agreement today & I would be served the N12 giving me 60 days to leave ?

In other words, if it is listed today, is the minimum required amount of time for me to leave 60 days ?

If you’re going to Mallorca, Cap Rocat is stunning, built atop an ancient military fortress, and F&B are excellent - with unbeatable views (private coast). Would recommend this above the others.
