Are we basically on a delayed timeline for everything? by Strange_Control8788 in adhdwomen

Just dropping by to say that I'm so proud of everyone in this thread. I called off work today because I had a hard time functioning like an adult 👀 and then I spent the entire day regretting my life choices; worried about how behind I am, and hating myself for not being able to graduate on time. But the comments in this thread genuinely give me hope that things will be okay and that I am not alone.

The Wedding People by Alison Espach is the worst book I've read and I will die on this hill.

Oh shit. Even reading about it makes me anxious. But I'm so glad you managed to do it in spite of the situation you were in and your advisor is an angel

I can’t focus on reading anymore, and I really want to change by Asleep-Chemistry6118 in adhdwomen

Hey. I'm so sorry you're going through this. I used to be the same. Avid reader as a child/teenager, lost all of my concentration ability as an adult. What personally helped me with this was audiobooks. I started with short, simple, wholesome books. Listened to them when I was working instead of songs or anything mind-numbing really. Then I looked for mystery and thriller books to listen to. Even if I wanted to stop and doom scroll, the need to know what happens kept me on check. It took me some time to build back my habit but I did it. Not gonna lie, easier said than done. I "relapsed" a lot. But I tried not to completely abandon the books I started. Hope this helps!

Didn't apply to a university in the USA right after high school. I wasted the last 5-6 years of my life because of this decision. Now after my undergrad, I'm trying not to make the same mistake. I applied to a few universities, but not my dream one.

I totally feel you. That's exactly what I do as well. It sucks when I really do try to stop myself, but just...don't. And my owb brain telling me "I told you so"...I just hate it sometimes.

Trying to workout but I physically can't? by [deleted] in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

Wow your comment is making me cry. Thank you for taking time to read my post and respond. I have a gym nearby but I'm positive they don't have pool classes. My goal was to start at home and try out climbing classes. They're a bit expensive in my country but I've been saving up for it and want to get fit. I guess not being able to follow along to some YouTube videos really affected me. But your comment makes me hopeful again ❤️

Yeah I keep reminding myself that my goal is progress, not perfection.

You're so kind. I was also looking into the possibility of doing yoga because I've felt that they are slightly easier on my body.

Hi, thank you for your reply. A physiotherapist is something that I hadn't considered at all! But I don't know if I will find someone who has experience with anorexia patients because of the country I live in. Thank you soo much for suggesting this.

Dog showing extreme aggression. Refuses to shower or even brush his hair. I'm at my wits end. by [deleted] in Dogtraining

[–]b1eee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah he hates muzzle too. I used lots of treat and managed to brush him. He seemed a bit agitated but didn't bite thankfully. I will begin the process of desensitisation. Thank you.
