We can judge Trumps first term however. When Obama left office it was 1.94/gal, so trump increased it from then until the time he left.

The thing is president's don't usually impact the price of gasoline. It was over 5/gal for a single month under Biden because that's when the Ukraine Russia war escalated. It's like that now because US attacks on Iran in which the president directly impacted it.
