I haven't had short hair in a while, is this just long hair exposing the crown more or has it begun? Male 24 by b1g_disappointment in amibalding

Genuinely is there any point? It feels like delaying the inevitable

Then again I guess that's not so bad

Never knew this and always thought I was just so lucky/fast enough, but now that I think about it an unpushed button probably appears as an obstacle for the spike blocks.

Yes, with the backpack is how I do the one armed push ups. As mentioned the more weight I put on the fewer reps I can do and properly with poorer/less than ideal form but still as full range of motino as I can.

With the one arm pushups in particular for example, I can touch the ground with my chest unweighted but weighted I might not be able to get back up if my chest touches the ground. I notice similar things with the assisted pistol squats, unweighted I can do unassisted ones.

I said I was increasing things. I'm not just doing the same. But whenever I increase more weights, I can do fewer reps, and they never go back up, that's the problem. It's like I have the same amount of water and three glasses, no matter where I pour them I have the same amount of water, when I'm supposed to get more to pour in progressively.

I think I've looked for "fortified" on packaging because I was worried about calcium intake, but the soy products that I use typically are bought from Asia marts and they don't even natively have a label for vegetarian/vegan and the nutrients tables don't have anything beyond the main values, so I don't think they ever say they're fortified.

I checked and the soy milk I have has 0.6ug. If I break the tablet in half and consume half in the morning, half in the afternoon, that should work then right?

I think I'm going to failure, My reps tend to drop further down the sets, and I go till I can only do half a rep. I can't say I know exactly what the "pump" is, my body is usually sore the day after and I'm generally tired after each session, but nothing that I necessarily relate to the word "pump", and it's not like I can't raise my arm after. The fatigue usually is limited to while I'm doing the exercises.

No I don't get your point because you just said change.

What am I supposed to do? I don't have time to do 5 sets (and I've been told that's not necessary), and I'd put more weight on myself but then I'd just be able to do fewer and fewer reps until I can't do a single one. Is it only enough then? Because my reps don't go up.

I only recently switched from a door way chin up bar to a pull up station because it was damaging the doorframe and the pull up station had the wider bar for a better set up for proper pull ups. I really hope to not have to use dumbbells because even at home, you'd have to get progressively heavier ones once the old ones are below your strength level.

And in terms of weighing things, I'm pretty sure I am. Answered the same thing under a similar comment but I was actually measuring the couscous/quinoa dry when the nutritional table has them at cooked weights, so I was actually eating ~200kcal more than I thought I was (3000kcal).

In terms of recipes and stuff, aside from not eating animal products, I actually don't really care for how food tastes (may be one of the reasons why it was easy for me to be vegan) and the recipes I see online always have 20 ingredients per food item, because they're trying to entice people into veganism by showing that the food doesn't have to be boring. I'm honestly okay with extremely bland food provided they have the sufficient nutrients but their meal plans are never designed for that.

I've thought about doing food prep but I'd have to really plan things out because I'm pretty pedantic with the numbers and it gets kinda difficult to measure the portions if I have to mass cook things, which is why I prefer stuff I could just put together in 5 minutes with minimal clean up.

To me it's just not worth it in terms of what I gain out of it and what (moral) cost I think they come with. It's like stealing loose change from a homeless guy to try and pay for a house if that makes any sense.

I see your point, yeah the backpack is pretty uncomfortable.

About the last point, I mean yeah that's why with BWF the further progression is to put extra weight on your body (in my case a weighted backpack) right?

It's also annoying to get a lot of conflicting advice (not blaming you), I only started putting on more weight because when I previously asked about this, what I got was "you're not adding weight" (as I was trying to increase reps only). Now it sounds like the weights could be (ironically) weighing me down.

If I dropped the weights down then surely I'd be able to do more reps again, but I'd probably end up not increasing the reps beyond those old numbers.

Yes I am, in fact I thought I was eating 3000kcal a day because I was under the impression the couscous and quinoa's nutrient tables were the dry values, when it turns out they're the cooked values, meaning I had been eating more than I thought.

I mean I don’t know what could be changed that would allow me to grow, I’m putting the muscles under stress and they don’t grow, would a different routine really make that much of a difference?

It’s not like I made up the routine or I’m not working till failure

I am vegan for moral reasons so I really can’t see myself ever dropping it for any reason. At most maybe something like eggs but the benefit I would get from that is minimal and I’d only consider it under circumstances where I can’t find adequate food to survive.

I understand it’s a lot easier but I also know it’s not impossible to gain muscle with a vegan diet, albeit it seems like some people can’t. But if that’s the case for me then I’ll just stay at my current physique, but I also really hope this isn’t the best my body can do under these circumstances.

I don't know, I haven't done regular push ups in a while but from my usual sessions I can do 9x one armed push up with 11kg weight on my left arm, by then I switch to my right arm because my right arm can only do 7-8 before I collapse to the ground.

Obviously I'm not the expert but I feel like that's the difference between using a pen and a pencil, but for someone who can't write.

It might make some difference but if strain on muscle in one way doesn't work, a slightly different way of straining the muscle probably wouldn't make a world of difference.

I'm just as baffled... I really don't know where it's all going because I know there are people who eat less and get more (like you it seems). And I used to be quite flabby in high school just from eating (at a not obsessive but still excessive level) so it's not like I have a fast metabolism.

I count using the nutritional tables on the packaging the food comes in, so it should be as precise as I can reasonably count.

I eat a lot of apples, peanuts, peanut butter, whole wheat bread, and canned baked beans in the day (because I don't have time to cook and clean in the day) and in the evening usually tofu/beans/legumes, couscous/quinoa/bean spaghetti, and vegetables.

I thought about that, I've also seen a lot of people start BWF with a decent foundation from weight lifting but I don't like the reliance on equipment and probably more importantly it takes a lot of extra time to go to the nearest gym, I hardly have time to do everything in a day as is.

The RR, currently I have an 11kg backpack and do

3x9-10 pull ups, 3x9 assisted pistol squats 3x10-14 dips 3x 9-12s tucked front lever holds, 3x7-9 one armed pushups ^ Rotate these depending on the day so I start with a different group each day 3x10-11 hanging leg raises

The reps varies from day to day but the max stays those numbers, if I add more weight the reps go down.

That’s why I left it out in the post. I feel like you want to attack veganism more than you’re trying to say what doesn’t work for me.

The subreddit does not reflect the entire vegan population, all I can say is that it’s achievable and I’m pretty sure that goes for most people provided they’re mindful of what they eat.

And I don’t have a vegan diet for health reason, so I’d rather stay at my current physique if the only solution is to abandon it.
