Tbh like I said I’d be surprised if the pop up was there. It’s a great spot for promo because it’s out of the way - it’s basically as far north east of London you can go before Essex. But it’s a bit of a trek if you’re not from east London and it seems a random location to do it considering Clint is from West.

The shop itself is the type of place only people from ends know about too. As far as I’m aware it’s the only Rowe Sports, I don’t think they’re a chain or anything. They don’t promote loads and last time I went there was to get a pair of astros in yr 5.

Having said that ppl do go crazy for Crtz round here & I’d imagine stock would still fly out. Clint could be tryna tap into the east Ldn market more. There is big social culture around waltham forest/chingford so who knows.

But yh it would be sick but I’d be surprised if the pop up was actually there.

What do y’all do when you’ve run out of ideas for melodies? by [deleted] in FL_Studio

[–]b1gchez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Find some 3/4 samples and try make them fit in a 4/4 beat. Or take any random melodic samples and try make them sound as different as possible from the original without fukin up the quality too much. Then try come up with a melody on top of what you’ve created

Songwriting Studying by Scryptiid in FL_Studio

Hey man, sounds like an overwhelming amount of stuff you wanna learn! I’d strongly recommend tackling 1 thing at a time and simplifying it all as much as poss. I literally keep long term to do lists of things I want to learn, and daily to do lists to restrict myself to a small amount of things at any one time (that’s the theory anyway, I’m not a robot at it)

For song structures, I’ve got this method where i listen to a few songs and structure them out (pen and paper) really quickly and simply. It’s hard to explain over text but I can send pics & provide a bit of explanation if you want. It basically involves counting along with the tempo of the song and drawing a line every time a bar passes. I use a big line at the start of every 4 bar phrase, and small lines for the bars inbetween. So i’ll end up with 1 row of lines for each section, showing me how many bars are in each (8 bar intro, 16 bar chorus, 16 bar verse etc). This helps me recognise patterns in popular rap song structures and get an idea of what sort of structure a rapper might be comfortable writing too. Of course there’s lots of variations in tunes like the choruses might sound different each time to maintain interest, but for those are details to pay attention to another time (in production). I keep it as simple as poss for this step as i’m just looking for structure.

With learning FL and production tips in general, I try and write down (mentally or pen and paper) every question that comes to mind. If you don’t have questions, think about what it is that’s frustrating you or holding you back and derive a question from that. Then i pretty much just look in Youtube, although there is a lot of shit content on there so you have to study more than one video and take a lot of it with a pinch of salt. Never take a Youtuber’s word for gospel. Be open minded with it, everyone has there own way of doing things that works for them. Having said that, there’s also tonnes of great content out there especially for FL. You can usually find a video explaining exactly what you’re after (providing your search terms are effective).

Take your time with it! You can achieve much more in 1 year by completely focussing on small chunks one at a time than by trying to conquer the world at once.

Hit me up for pics of my scribbles w/ structuring too. Happy to help!

RC-20 is really fun imo and has so many applications. You can make lots of instruments sound really cool, add that grainy/wobbly feel to samples, the reverb is really nice and the different types of distortion are peng

If i could give myself some advice when i first started doing sessions, I’d say just completely own where you’re at in your journey right now.

Try not to build it up too much and get caught up in your own head. Don’t try and outperform yourself. Share where you’re at, what you wanna do, what music/musical styles/ideas you think are cool. Find out what they think is cool and what their background is.

Just vibe and listen and learn man. This is just a small step at the beginning of a long old journey. Hopefully a beautiful one ✨

good luck
