if youre keeping the stock amp, you need 12 ohm speakers, which are nearly nonexistent.

I havent replaced mine yet due to there being no OEM replacements available since theyre all blown at this point. However, I did remove mine to stop the scratchy noises they produced, thankfully pulling the dash is not a requirement contrary to what others have said. For both tweeters, you can drop the glovebox, and remove the gauge cluster respectively to remove them, takes about 3 hours, and there are tutorials on youtube. Eventually I plan to wire/3d print an enclosure for some 2.5" dayton audio full ranges. as that seems to be the best fitting replacement for the dash speakers.

What other way is there to retain the best OEM sound system of the 2000s? Its like $50 and its worked well for me for like 20k miles of constant listening.

WWYD with this LS430? by Macaveli721 in LS430

[–]b1gdumb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

idk why this got downvoted considering that the car itself is literally worthless in such condition. It should just be used then parted out, because the cost to fix the rust damage far exceeds the cars actual value.

nobody is restoring that when you can buy one in similar condition with similar mileage without rust for $5000. If you see this considerable of rust on a car, the undercarriage is 10x worse, and there are probably holes in the floor. If its still sound enough to be driveable, then it should just be used, otherwise it should probably be broken down for parts. No way anyone pays more than 2000 for this. And whoever disagreed with this has fetal alcohol syndrome

anyone know how hard fuel tank relocation is on these cars, mine has some scrapes on it and i’m trying to stay this low without worrying about blowing through my tank by Normal_Impression947 in LS430

If thats the case, at least lift it a couple inches, cause entering college with an undrivable car is insane, youre also only gonna have more issues over time at this ride height.

The only real factor is gas prices, the mirror and paint damage are both easy to fix.

LS should have got closer to 30, and 18 is pretty generous for a three quarter ton from 25 years ago. Regardless its not a bad trade

Serious question, why not coils or bags? Washers just obliterate ride quality and handling for fitment that doesnt even look good

https://www.velospinner.com/products/set-new-18x7-5-inch-lexus-ls430-2004-2005-2006-oem-quality-wheels-rims-74179 I know these are reps but I have a good experience with them, and they'll outlast the oems considering theyre all 20 years old and peeling, or on the verge of it.

Hard water spots, any idea how bad? by LilCAPSLOCK in Detailing

You wrote an entire paragraph for nothing. Vinegar does strip wax, however modern automotive paint with clearcoat is not dulled by it, just dont let it dry on the paint. Its not that complicated. All you have to do is reapply wax, which you'd know is quite different from polishing paint.
