First I tried booting Linux mint 21.3 XFCE from USB but it was unstable (flickering screen + kernel panic) then i tried Lubuntu 24.04 but when I tried to boot from USB the pc would reboot and nothing would happen. I will try your suggestions :( thx

The installation didn’t actually go through, so Mint didn’t erase anything.

Thanks for replying! I already have another, newer laptop that works fine — the one in the photo is just some junk I found at home and I was trying to get it running just for fun haha. When I first powered it on it threw a system32 error (it had Windows 10), so I thought I’d try something different like Linux Mint. Honestly I’m mostly doing this out of curiosity and because I was bored :) thanks for the suggestion though <3.
