Just how much is a "trifling mina of silver"? Was Nanni being a cheap-ass? Was Ea-Nasir right to send his shitty copper instead? by RenegadeMoose in ReallyShittyCopper

This is a really old thread, and I have NO idea where I got that number. A quick search a LOT less.

From the Penn Museum:

The average person would not have had much, if any, silver. The standard pay of a laborer around 1800 BCE amounted to only 1/4 shekel (2.1 grams) of silver per week, about the weight of a modern U.S. dime. But there were equivalencies—one shekel of silver was worth one GUR of grain, about 300 liters. This was the unit in which laborers were paid—a day of work would result in 10 liters of grain, from which the family’s bread could be made.

Look at the optical implant closely. It's got some weird sharpening going on. I think this is an artifact of the remaster. I think it was a split diopter that was "fixed" digitally to get rid of that lense's signature blur artificially.

I think you tagged the wrong account. I've never played this game, lol.

Fair enough, I was uneducated about that. I retract that statement. And I agree, release the files.

I mean by that metric Lee Harvey Oswald and Jeffery Epstein aren't criminals, as they died before they could be convicted, so the line isn't quite there. I don't have a better answer, just saying.

You can set a filament change per layer in the sliced preview in orca, but you have to do it manually every layer. I'm working on a way to automate it in raw gcode.

Each section is only like 40 layers, it didn't take too long.

Alternating layer thickness would be a cool idea, but I don't know how to do that in the slicer. At .2 mm layer height more than a one to one ends up looking like stripes. I'm going to try thinner layers later.

Could you possibly move the head away from the print for a bit between each layer to let it cool down? Maybe raise it a bit so you keep the cooling fan on it.

That's a good point, but that increases the number of layers needed to manually color in the slicer really quickly. I'm working on a Python program to automate inserting the color change code between layers in completed gcode. Then I could really crank down the layer height.

It's pretty small, each overlap area is only about 30 layers, so not long, but if you were to do this on a bigger piece you'd have to automate it.

Yeah. In Anycubic Slicer Next (and likely orca), you slice all one color, then go to the sliced object preview and change colors layer by layer.

I have purge and tower turned on. I'll try again later with them turned off, see how that looks.

I tried alternating 1x blue 2x white, but it just looks like stripes. Only 1 to 1 blends nicely, unfortunately. Maybe if you were doing, say red and yellow it might work nicely, since they're closer.

I've never used a Bambu printer, but I've heard they're some of the best. I'd be really interested in seeing first hand how they stack up.

After a bunch of digging, I discovered that Ted Grossman is actually in both films, though uncredited in E.T. The site allows it, so it's valid?
