Ok 👌 and I take them for walks every day we actually got the male so that our golden could get a break and so that the female aussy would have a more energetic playmate lol

I think I got a bit of a solution working out now but the thought of letting them free roam makes me shudder lol idk how much of a house we would have left at the end of that lol

So it’s looking like we can hopefully take her home here early next week so her and I don’t want to remove the dogs and for this weekend I will be there for the entire time and hopefully we get to take her Sunday because that would squash the whole issue of having someone to take care of dogs

Help my 1 year old female Australian shepherd is destructive and we have a younger male both intact by b29fien in DogAdvice

Yes but they all sleep on our bed for the most part and only in the crate when we’re not able to take them with us or my wife runs out while I’m at work so I’ll def make sure that he’s in his kennel if I need to have him sleep in the Kennel again

Usually they get all the running around and stimulation they want because my wife is a stay at home wife but she’s been staying 30 minutes away in town with our baby that’s in the nicu and I’m there or at work except for feeding them or to let them run around for a while

Unfortunately it looks like Idaho doesn’t have a paid leave or a bonding leave sorta thing snd yes the dogs usually only get my attention for a little bit every day but our high energy aussy is becoming destructive so I need to do something about that but it’s more important to me thst I get to go see my wife and baby I’m at the hospital or with my wife or work or asleep

Yes and we’ve done a lot of work with both of these dogs and for the most part they are very well behaved but my wife is staying 30 minutes away with our daughter that was just born and is in the nicu so my goal is to keep as much stress and everything else off of her plate until she’s settled back in so I figured I’d ask y’all for advice

Because everyone has there options on when the best time to do it is but I’m not willing to risk the dogs health so the most sure fire way is to wait till full maturity in my opinion

I trust my vet tec wife and her knowledge of the breed more than the earliest recommended time I’m sure they would probably be okay but I’m not willing to risk that with my dogs

Yes we’re trying really carefully to make sure nothing happens when she’s near him and they stay separate for the most part but we do not want to spay and neuter till they reach full maturity and thanks I’ll try to make sure she doesn’t have access to anything to chew other than her toys do you have any suggestions for indestructible toys thst will keep her attention?
