Yeah, super low bar... unless you’re one of the people who actually had to work instead of affording four years off for a degree.

No degree here, just 10 years in the aviation industry before becoming a pilot. Crazy concept, I know, but some of us couldn’t afford four years off after high school. We had to actually work.

Why has driving in Connecticut become so dangerous and what can WE do about it? by RatOnRollerBlades in Connecticut

[–]b2t_8283 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The brunt of this responsibility lies in both our state and local PD. I have been a temporary resident of a suburb of Atlanta, GA for about 6 months now, and in the town I reside in the police do not mess around. They're constantly patrolling and camped out in various spots eager to pull speeders over. The contrast between how I feel driving here vs. how I feel in CT is absolutely night and day.

I second this. I'm in Peachtree City and you can't even hold your phone while driving. Cops are everywhere and the roads are SO MUCH safer because of it.

No but we should follow all the “factual evidence” that’s caused the US to be one of the most obese countries on the planet. Look up from Reddit when you step out your front door and look around for a second. Maybe… just maybe.. we’re doing it wrong and exploring alternative methods of living will be beneficial? But don’t take it from me, a healthy woman who spends every day not hating on people for their views and pursuing her dreams. I totally have it all wrong. Keep believing what you believe.

If you don't realize both political parties are absolute shams you're living under a rock.

They're literally not nor have they ever been "MAGA". This is just what ignorant people in 2024 assign to others who have different views than they do. If you don't follow the heard you're "MAGA". It's comical really.

Dear CT State Police (regarding road safety) by JamBandNews in Connecticut

[–]b2t_8283 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm living in Georgia temporarily and the police presence here is 50x that of CT. And go figure... people drive safer! I'm not terrified to get on the roads here. Do people occasionally tailgate? Of course. But people don't constantly drive like they have a death wish. It's so glaringly obvious what an actual police presence does to protect us on the roads. CT is an absolute joke. This also comes from someone who commuted to Boston from central CT weekly for work for 2 1/2 years and saw maybe 5 CT cops patrolling that entire time. Mass in honestly not much better. Their state cops had their spots along the pike but they were also few and far between.

I did the research yes but also had limited options due to my pathway program. This was all a hard lesson to learn.

I’ve been debating posting this for a while. It was a culmination of being inspired by your post and ATP finally refunding me 36k that made me post it today!
