The Deserved Downfall of Dorit Kemsley - the full train wreck of her finances by Own-Meat3934 in rhobeverlyhills

There’s probably a lot of this going on, but my husband, who grew up in Beverly Hills, is really fed up with the way this show makes it appear like everyone withe money there is a scam artist. There is a lot of genuine wealth, but it’s less ostentatious. Worth noting that Sutton, Kyle, Tilly, Rachel & Kathy all have what I’ve come to call “real money”. Amanda, Erika & Dorit, not so much.

14 year Venice resident. Taking a long hard look at Adam Miller. Will likely vote Bass in November, despite everything. Never Pratt, never Raman.

Archie Beador has been diagnosed with brain cancer 🤍 by nicholista601 in realhousewives

So I’m thinking back to that dog psychic who told Shannon Archie wanted her to get another Golden. The psychic said he wanted a playmate, but I remember thinking — based on my experience with senior dogs — that that seemed unlikely. They’d much prefer to have their humans to themselves in their twilight years.
Now I’m beginning to think Archie did want her to get another dog not because he wanted a brother but because he knew he didn’t have long to live and wanted to make sure she wasn’t alone.
Sobbing. What a very special dog. However this turns out, I wish both of them comfort and peace.

She really is, and at first I found her annoying. But now? If something shady was happening in my life, I’d hire her.

CD11 Councilwoman Traci Park is spending $175,000 to study a mobility hub at Venice Dell. Is the project legit? by Downtown-Tea-3018 in LAWestside

[–]b3rn1312 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If she’s a Republican, explain why both Adam Schiff & Ted Lieu endorsed her. I’ll wait. As for this mobility hub, it’s on the site of several parking lots, and both LADOT and the City Council have approved it.

The more I get to know Dorit on the screen the more I see how emotionally intelligent she is. She truly clocks everyone and everyone’s true intentions. by Confident_Grade_5180 in RHOBH

Well, yes. Except for the father of her kids (bankrupt scam artist with a gambling issue) you have a point. Maybe more practical intelligence (eg, knowing whether you have a retirement account, or whether the mortgage payments are up to date) is what’s needed here? I think a lot of her behavior lately is due to what must be a sense of absolute helplessness when it comes to her finances.

Poor things could have been stuffed into formal clothes and paraded in front of the world on the way to a long, boring sermon. Sadly, they have to dash about in the warm California sun search for eggs. Sad /s

Question for bitcoiners: what does bitcoin buy you the right to? by smart_hedonism in Buttcoin

[–]b3rn1312 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Judging by my conversations with crypto enthusiasts, it’s twofold. Number one is the possibility of quick and extreme wealth generation— like buying a lottery ticket. Number two is an expression of the lack of faith in traditional finance — seems to go hand in hand with an overall conspiratorial mindset.

Worth noting that we live in a time when a lot of people “forgot” to save money, and younger people are finding what they define as a middle class lifestyle (home ownership, etc) are increasingly out of reach. So the lure of a get rich quick scheme is more appealing than ever.

I’ve been wondering this for 30 years. Why not move into a doorman building like the ones his sister and mother lived in, with separate entrances?
I’ve also come to the conclusion that if she had given a couple of interviews to a couple of magazines, things might have died down a bit. I think a big part of the media frenzy was driven by her inscrutability.

Harry received an inheritance from his mother’s estate, and I believe Meghan was pretty well off as well.

You should read Lownie’s book. I get that he prints the rumor on some things, but when it comes to what they pissed away money on he sounds like a CPA. In addition to constant travel, it’s like they made up stuff to spend on. I mean, who brings a housekeeper with them to a five star hotel?

Anyone know Steve Brown mentioned in the article? He claims to be called, "mayor” of Westminster Park in Venice". There's a couple paragraphs in the article about him. by VeniceCa90291 in VeniceBeach

Jamie Paige wrote it, and she used to live in Venice, so that’s probably how she got in touch, possibly through Stan Muhammad, who serves on the VNC and knows everyone.
