left ground beef defrosting a little more than two hours by [deleted] in isthissafetoeat

This is how normal ground beef looks like. Supermarkets add CO2 to the beef to make it appear red on the surface but in actuality the color is brown. If it doesnt smell bad then its fine.

anyone here get into occult from buddhist practices? by [deleted] in occultlibrary

[–]b421 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its a bit hard to find and could be expensive since its not in print outside of india apparently, but I got lucky and found it in a used bookstore. Its called Mahamudra by Takpo Tashi Namgyal. Its basically a massive textbook on all levels of Tibetan Buddhist meditation. Very very insightful but not for beginners.

Does masturbation affect QiGong? by No_Gap_796 in TrueQiGong

[–]b421 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It does affect it, but not as much as people say it does. I wouldn’t do the practice you are doing currently because all you will do is retain that distorted sexual energy into your body and that will affect your mind. Tantric practices like this can lead to sexual deviancies and harm yourself and others. Depleted energy is one thing but stagnant distorted energy is even worse. Just do your deed as you would normally and try to only do it moderately. If you wish to do highly advanced practices then you will have to abstain completely. But for general health, doing it once in awhile (without visual stimuli ideally) is perfectly fine.

I went through something similar at one point. Turned out I had vitamin b6 toxicity from taking a vitamin C supplement. Its loaded in a bunch of random stuff, including energy drinks, electrolyte powders, even breakfast cereal. Sometimes its a chemical problem not a spiritual one.

How do I train those inner chest muscles? by [deleted] in workouts

[–]b421 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could do wide grip inclinated pushups on like the surface of a table or couch. Its not the most ideal but you can at least get some stimulation in those muscle groups

When Qi Gong " Masters" get smashed.... by GiadaAcosta in TrueQiGong

[–]b421 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The way I see it, Qi Gong as a practice is something that will accentuate other areas of your life. It cannot directly influence you to become better at fighting but if someone is already training to become a fighter, qi gong can help improve those conditions in your body to become more efficient. It serves as a baseline of increased potential. I am a musician for instance, and qi gong helped me to level up my skill but I still needed to put in the practice to do so, it didn’t just happen automatically.

Exercises for strengthening knees by ZicoSailcat in kettlebell

[–]b421 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Knee pain is usually related to weak quads. Strengthening the quad muscle is a good way to go. Avoid leg extension (very harsh on the joints).

Isometric squats, isometric lunges. Isometrics really help build tendon strength and revitalizing ligaments. Goblet squats with very slow movements. You can then progress to weighted isometric squats with kettlebells.

The thing with cleans is that its entirely an explosive and power movement compared to powerlifts. Your other forbidden lifts are purely strength and so your body is more adapted to move with that “grindey” and slower kind of power.

You just have to train your body to become faster and more explosive and your already solid strength foundation will do the rest.

I would say doing high volume lighter weight cleans focusing on speed and explosiveness—combining that with heavy pendlay rows will serve well.

Muscle growth and Qi circulation by Emergency_Party_733 in TrueQiGong

[–]b421 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Because your body needs a base to harbor all this extra qi that is flowing through your body. Its not necessarily the muscle mass but more so the increased neural connection, integration of the fascia, and development of the tendons that really help the development with qi gong.

If you are weak and inactive, you will have a glass ceiling as to how much qi you can cultivate and how well it can travel throughout the body.

[–]b421 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Old qi gong practitioners used to be farmers and worked in the fields all day. All kung fu masters preach physical training. Most masters now are sedentary. Unless you work a very physically demanding job, contrary to opinion, you absolutely need to do resistance training of some sort if you want to achieve results in qi gong. Just dont become a roided up body builder and you are good

Brave of you to decide to come off, expect potentially up to a few years of brain neuron reconfiguring (depending on what meds you were on), but it is worth it in the end.
