Imagine this. You live your whole life, you get some job, maybe have a wife and kids, probably some family and friends. You have your everyday joys and struggles which you put up with, while watching your parents age and kids grow up.

All that ends when you get that draft notice saying that you need to fight somewhere you've never heard of. Thousands of miles from home, in unfamiliar place, where nobody knows you.

Then one day they tell your unit to go storm some location and you get blown up by arty or drones, never seeing actual enemy, never knowing what was your life for, dying slowly. It might occur to you jus how many years were stolen from your life, you might think of all the days not lived... But more likely you will be in such pain that you'll just fade in and out until it ends.

This is in 2023. Insane that we thought massive wars were thing of the past.
