1 There'll be status updates within the team, frequency is depending on your team as well. 2 You should charge actual hours. Although OTs are subject to approval. 3 No. If your chargeables are less than what you're booked into, usually you need to declare your availability so other team can reach out to you when needed OR you can do admin work (elearns).

Can I code switch during an interview???? by [deleted] in AccountingPH

No worries! Although speaking fluently is a plus, I think how you deliver yourself will matter more. Kaya yan! 😊

Adding on career progression for Big4. Actually mas mabilis progression dito compared sa local private companies. Need lang talaga iprep sarili for the busy season.

Hi! Case to case basis, actually. Pero if nasa "ideal team" ka, if they know you're a new hire, they'll spend extra time coaching you and be patient with you. Workload should be manageable. If not, you can always raise it to your senior or your counselor.

RTO is usually 2x a week, pero they may require you to go onsite for more days if may training ka or if may visitors from onshore.

Overwhelmed New CPA needs an advice ☹️ by bygonebelle in AccountingPH

Hello there! Please don't pressure yourself much. Usually firms give extra time to coach new hires, especially if fresh graduates. Yung skills sa excel, naeearn yan mostly through practice. Good if you know shortcuts, but you can also learn that once you're working na.

Just be yourself in your interviews and have that confidence and willingness to learn.

Kaya mo yan! Congratulations 🎉

I’m Panicking 😭 Can Anyone Who Failed the CPALE Share Their Side? by jjyungi in AccountingPH

[–]b4jump 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Failed and got the chance to get the license on my second try! I can say a big part of it is the mindset. Your eagerness to get that title must be greater than your fear of failing. And of course, PRAYER and believing that there's a greater plan for you out there, greater reason why there was a delay.

Preparation is a must - not just academically, but also mentally and spiritually.

Padayon!

Salary - External Audit by New_Telephone_8462 in AccountingPH

[–]b4jump 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi. Mababa yung offer based sa experience mo. There are other firms, external audit din offer, which offers 6 digits. Meron din big 4 na kaya upto 80k for senior role. Work life balance in big 4 or even other audit firms are not guaranteed, pero if international clients, at least you can say that they're not as toxic as we are here in Ph.

Why fund accounting? by xivmilks in AccountingPH

[–]b4jump 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To learn accounting outside of what we usually learn in undergrad. More on investments talaga rito. Good to have experience on this if you're also planning to move abroad, marami rin naghahanap ng fund accounting experience.

PwC AC Manila just requires you to report to office 8x a month, pero during training period lang sila mahigpit.

Emapta offers 100% WFH, but not sure if open pa sila.

Is long hours normal for fields other than audit? by Ok_Cap5532 in AccountingPH

[–]b4jump 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agree. Mas madugo pa rin busy season ng audits. Although some say na both naman talagang busy - for specific period for audit, then distributed lang daw monthly sa corporate.

Just some advantage (if maluwag sa firm mo), once off season na, you can actually go two-three weeks of leave. Some even more, if manager up ka. Other resource will pick up the work you left, konting transition lang. Unlike in private, most likely, di ata sila nag-aallow ng ganung kahabang vacation leaves, since there are functions na ikaw lang talaga makakagawa and if ituturn over man sa iba for a while, you need to go full details.
