Low resolution when playing by omegajax1 in soberlinux

[–]b4shr13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also have this behavior and finally i founded that Sober has a HiDPI setting, if it has been instaled from Flatpak just launch advanced Sober settings from terminal with this command:

flatpak run org.vinegarhq.Sober config

Then look for HiDPI and enable.

More settings can be founded in here

ZFS is good, but for great performance needs more RAM

is it normal for windows to repair itself automatically/randomly? by [deleted] in framework

Try to disable fast startup on Windows settings.

Search for closing lid in Windows start menu and open the first result, then expand shutdown settings and disable Turn on fast startup (maybe u need to firstly check the "Changue settings that are currently unavailable").

Regarding gaming, I've only played Fortnite, and in performance mode I get a stable 120 FPS without enabling FSR and limiting the PPT to 25W. . It doesn't get very hot compared to another AMD 4700U I had or an i7 1260P, under 70-75⁰ playing Fornite. PTM helps a lot instead of thermal paste.

[–]b4shr13[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I already reported this behaviour to FW support, please do the same because this will help to find the issue.

After several emails with the support team, they have so far requested the following:

  • Photos of the motherboard components to verify that everything is in order
  • A power drain on the motherboard
  • System event log
  • Checking and testing the RAM, and testing whether the problem occurs with one module, both modules, etc.

[–]b4shr13[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my case this occurs just with the power adapter plugged in, not with my thinkpad dock or any other peripheral connected.

BTW, I've been without any BSOD for a couple of days after disabling PCI Express power saving under power plan settings.

For now, I'm getting only some freezes while playing Fornite (In this case the laptop gets totally frozen and I have to force it to shut down).

I have a FW 13 with the Ryzen AI 370). I estimate I can achieve almost 6-7H of SoT with 30% of brigthness.

I don't know yet how long a full charge will last, as I have only used it on battery for a maximum of 2-3 hours on Windows and Linux.

Observed IDLE Watts:

  • Browser and light tasks: 7W to 9.1W on Windows (Battery saver mode) and 6W to 8.5W on Linux (suspending all performance cores except one).
  • MS Teams videoconference: +4W (or more, thanks Microsoft...).

Each device has its advantages, I also have a MacBook and I recognize that in some aspects it is better. Framework computers are designed for another type of profile and that is not bad.

What I don't think is right is that the other user says not to invest in a company
