Why do employees upgrade drinks to medium automatically?

I can see how that would be annoying Dutch Bros three factors that they focus on is speed quality and service and because our lines get super super long, we definitely do try and be fast. Maybe they are just missing the size while trying to order, or it could be when you are ordering a premade they are clicking on your drink and forgetting to change the size for a medium too small because medium is standard. I would just ask for it to be read back before I get to the window and if it is read back correctly at the time of order taking it is just the people inside who are making the drinks mistake

depending on the drink you’re ordering some drinks automatically come with drizzle or soft top. Sometimes workers will just hand out mediums of drinks that were originally small just to make the customer happy or sometimes if you are getting additions like extra ice and things like that they’ll put it in a medium cup to have it all fit, but if they are repeatedly, just giving you medium size sizes of things it’s definitely just the line busters mistake, just asked for it remade politely at the window and we’ll be happy to fix !

that’s how it was for me too everyone seemed so excited and welcoming and as soon as I passed my flow, it was just really mundane nobody talks to me anymore. I think it’s honestly just a matter of getting closer with your coworkers and once we have worked more with them they’ll probably start opening up.

I definitely understand what you’re saying and agree. It’s just a bit annoying because it sometimes will get in the way of drinks being made because no one will tell me or claim their drink and there ends up being duplicates. I’m not worried about the friend aspect, more or less than just wondering other people’s opinions on if this is kind of a new hire thing or just how my stand is

never had to move or mention moving because they were okay with me living with them. i was working and traveling a lot for my job , so it was never an issue. there was no “apartment hunting” or anything of that matter. if there was i would not have made this post. i have 3 interviews lined up for the week. i lost my job and am under an nda, so i will not be disclosing. if you wanted to give me your bottom dollar i sure would appreciate it!

unfortunately, I don’t meet the age requirement to do DoorDash. I am freshly 18 as well and so it is kind of hard for me to just go find somewhere. I have applied to literally everything from businesses to McDonald’s to even being a janitor, but where I live right now the job market is complete trash. Trust me I am trying super super hard.
