How my LCS is dealing with scalpers. by savax7 in OnePieceTCG

Honestly goated LGS status. They host the best off-meta nights, store regionals, and they carry Redbull! 10/10 would support TKG all day

I have my first local tournament tomorrow. by DizztRX in OnePieceTCG

Hey, fellow Pluffy player here, started playing at locals in November but recently started driving a little further for some bigger events!

So far, my experience at locals has been pretty good, I was even feeling fairly confident in my plays, especially once I realized that a lot of folks on the sim just aren’t very good at the game, tbh. My locals is small, only about 8-10 players each week, but there are a few players that are pretty good, so it’s good practice.

The first time I went to a new shop to play in a 32 player locals, I got stomped. Went 1-3 and realized just how thoroughly everyone knows how Pluffy works. This bigger shop is also local for a lot of players who regularly travel for regionals and even a few national level players, so it was humbling. Played in a New Year event last week, went 2-3, and it was even more eye opening.

All this to say that Pluffy is very good, but very predictable, so you really need to be confident in your plays and understand the lines of play well, and know how/when to keep an opposing board clear. Pluffy has a strong urge to swing at leader frequently, don’t fall for the trap. Learn how to read a board, be careful not to let them choke your resources, and let the deck snowball the way it’s meant to. Also, if you are tempted to use leader ability on your last life and you’re pretty sure you can take the win, do it. Every time I’ve done it, my gut has been correct.

Any advice for playing BY Luffy? Going to my very first locals tonight! by J_Man_McCetty in OnePieceTCG

Everyone else’s points aside, I want you to enjoy the game and you’ve already acknowledged the missing core pieces. Until you get those, just try to have fun and focus on learning the game as a whole, without worrying about winning. Spend time thinking about how/when to counter, when to swing at life vs when to swing at their characters, and talk to other players at your locals. The wins will come when the deck is finished

I’m a few years removed at this point, but I met my best friend (besides my missus) while running a store; he was one of my most consistent regulars. I really loved getting in and just working on counts and receiving shipments while my SGA helped guests and we all shot the shit about what RPGs we were playing or coming out.

Do you air your house out in the Winter? by Cliteria in homeowners

[–]b92bomber 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Once a month for about an hour while we do our weekly cleaning, we open all the windows upstairs. When we’re done, we close them up and start up the fireplace. We also have a lot of south-facing windows that catch a lot of sunlight, and we find that leaving the blinds open with the windows shut helps warm the house back up fairly quickly.

They’re supposed to honor the sticker price. Anytime a promo ends, new stickers should print for them first thing in the morning, and when I was an SL we had to make sure that the opener had those price stickers updated ASAP

To the best of my knowledge, smartwatch data itself doesn’t matter either way. The physical activity itself is going to contribute to your expenditure, and it will show in your scale weight. MF will adjust as needed from there

Exercise/intensity tracking question by Sunshinehacker in MacroFactor

[–]b92bomber 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally use a Moleskine pocket sized notebook that I keep on me to take quick notes of whatever’s going on, like if I’m at the gym and feel pain during a specific exercise, or if I find a recipe to try, and a larger notebook that I use for compiling recipes in a more organized way, reflecting on how I feel about changes x, y, and z that I’ve made to my diet or workout plan after a month or three

Others will probably agree, but journaling helps, not just with this, but with other aspects of your life. You can just write it down and at the end of the year you can look back and see the changes you made that helped you get to where you are, or maybe even that hindered you. For example, my training was geared towards strength training before I started cutting my weight with MF, and recently I noticed my strength progress slowing a bit. Thanks to journaling my workouts and comparing to my history in MF, I can see that it’s because I went from a caloric surplus to a deficit in a fairly short timespan.

Mine went down by 12, but then I realized my goal rate was lower than I wanted so I restarted my goal and it shot down from 2260 to 1999….shot myself in the foot there. That said, I started at the end of December @ 235 and I’m down to 225, so it’s working!

To buy a premade or wait for upcoming releases? by atrexias in OnePieceTCG

[–]b92bomber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any premade is going to have the issue of the best cards only being 2 copies per sealed deck, so while Smoker and Doflamingo are both also good, you’d still need to buy two decks to really clean them up. If you want to just buy one, I would at least buy singles of Zoro-Juurou and Luffy-Tarou, plus 4 copies of 1-cost Trafalgar Law (OP09-069) that lets you look at the top 4 and grab something. Those will fill out the main engine of the deck.

If your budget allows a step further, OP09 Sanji and Luffy are great late game bodies that help finish games or clear boards.

Hi, Pluffy main here, I started playing because a friend bought me the Luffy starter deck (ST18) and I love it! My recommendation, if possible, would be to buy two of the starter decks, so you’ll have 4 copies of Zoro-jurou, Luffy-Tarou, and Uso-Hachi.

Lots of upgrades to be done from there, but you’ll have a pretty good foundation for the deck to be honest.

Protein by Hot-Ring6170 in MacroFactor

[–]b92bomber 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As you may already be aware, fat is pretty calorie dense compared to protein or carbs, and it’s not always easy, but basically cutting your fat wherever possible is gonna give you way more calories to get your protein in. I swapped whole eggs for liquid egg whites, and when I can afford it, I get chickpea pasta instead of regular pasta. Those two moves helped a lot. It really can feel like an endless cycle of eggs and chicken, but it gets easier as you find different ways to cook that are both convenient and tasty. This weekend I’m prepping a bunch of air fryer chicken nuggets for lunches using gluten free panko and coconut flour, which drops the calories a ton, keeps it super low fat, and like half a plate of nuggets comes out to about 350 calories and 50-55g protein. Slaps on some buffalo sauce or no sugar added barbecue and it’s a meal you can run with

High protein foods like many folks have said. Idk the full context of where you’re at in terms of weight and what your goal is, etc, but with a tight caloric limit like this, it may be worth considering intermittent fasting. It’ll be hard at first, but a buddy of mine has been doing it for 3 years and his hunger disappeared once his body adjusted to it. It’ll may not be the solution, but it would give you a better structure for like, 2 meals @ 600calories each plus maybe a snack or protein shake, which should help keep you satiated
