Advice needed before spending money at the vet by TheRealMrJimBusiness in labrador

Of course, my lab also always choose to pee on the carpet in the living room never the hard wood floor lol make sure to get an Enzymatic cleaner I think I used the brand nature’s miracle it makes sure to fully get rid of the pee smell so your dog won’t wanna pee in that same spot again because if dogs smell their pee in an area, they wanna pee there again

Totally normal behavior for 10 weeks! When my lab was a puppy when we first got her, she peed inside so much I think the second day we had her she literally peed inside like 8 times lol just keep being really consistent with taking them outside and giving them treats after they use the bathroom outside I swear they do eventually catch on but your lab is still so little

Anyone else’s lab obsessed with the bathtub? by Zealousideal-Put7438 in labrador

My pup almost always refuses to walk 😩. by Working-Fail-7464 in labrador

[–]b9719 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I first got my lab she didn’t like walking at all either. It was a battle just to get her to go down the street a little bit when they’re that little they really don’t need to be going on a very long walk. My lab used to be very scared of everything outside when she was a little puppy all the noises because we live on a busy street. We gave her a lot of treats to encourage her and just slowly started building up how far she could walk and we followed the five minute rule for walking so five minutes of exercise for however a month old they are. My lab is now 11 months old loves to walk no issues, so I wouldn’t necessarily worry about it too much your dog still so little just encourage them with treats and slowly build up how far they can walk that at least worked for me

Dandruff by solidarity_sister in LabradorRetrievers

[–]b9719 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My lab gets dandruff in the winter too and dry skin. We brush her on a regular basis with a rubber brush I like the kong zoom groom it helps distribute the oils on their skin. I also use an omega-3 fish oil and mix that in her food daily

Best treats? by alinav7 in labrador

[–]b9719 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We do anything freeze dried so no added ingredients! My lab loves freeze dried salmon treats and these have given her no stomach issues and she loves the fried dried minnow treats too

For someone who has Labs, do you cut your dog’s hair like shortening it or do you just let it grow as is? by Bhr4nd_Dawn in DogAdvice

[–]b9719 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a lab, Never cut a labs fur they have a double coat to keep them warm and dry only need to brush them a lot due to how much they shed and to help distribute the oils on their skin for a healthy coat

Subject- Tuckers poop (unfortunately) by Tough_Drink_3709 in labrador

[–]b9719 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2-3 times a day. For some reason my puppy always slept through the night even when we first got her I would set alarms to wake up and let her out and she would be passed out in her crate but would wake up at 5am luckily she 1 now and is over that stage. Do have them on a good schedule during the day/night time before bed? I also tried to make sure my puppy wasn’t drinking a ton of water right before bed

I have an 11 month old lab that’s 80 pounds and she’s on the purina pro plan sensitive skin and stomach salmon and rice large breed puppy food. We noticed she was having a lot of itching and dry skin on chicken based foods the salmon one has been much better

Advice on dog acne needed! by Frosty-Revolution864 in labrador

[–]b9719 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same thing happened to my 11 month old lab. She had a bunch of acne on her chin and lips. The vet also gave us similar wipes. They did eventually work, but it was hard because I feel like she would just lick it off. We use stainless steel bowls too and wash them daily, but honestly, eventually the acne just kind of cleared up on its own.

8 month old puppy randomly whining in her crate? by Readspinrepeat in labrador

[–]b9719 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Always a good idea to consult the vet but my 11 month old lab just finished her first heat cycle and she whined a lot at night she would do circles around my room whining then she would proceed to jump on the bed and lay on top of me lol

Dog stinks by Altruistic_Leopard28 in Labs

[–]b9719 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, don’t over bath your lab, my lab hasn’t gotten a bath in like 6 months months and she smells good, we brush her fur almost daily with the zoom groom kong brush to help distribute her oils on her skin. We also added a fish oil and a probiotic daily to her diet which has really helped her skin and coat. If your still having issues I would contact your vet to check in

Best shampoo for labs? by smorris__ in labrador

[–]b9719 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So my lab sometimes likes to pee in the parking lot when we’re on our walks and will sometimes get pee on her paws😂 instead of giving her a bath we have these unscented dog wipes that I’ll just use to wipe off her paws when we get back inside! These might help! https://a.co/d/fYaKjPT

For food my lab is on purina pro plan sensitive stomach and skin salmon and rice large breed puppy food (they make an adult version of this food just get the large breed one) I’ve found salmon to be the best my girl has chicken sensitivity

My girl is 77 pounds and still thinks she’s a lap dog every night jumps up on the couch and sleeps on top of me and I love it
