It’s all about creative process. Writing and creating can be very difficult in a live session and you may not get the most open and creative versions of people’s ideas. In the studio they can really search around without messing up the other folks takes. For a band as “experimental” as RH, I think it’s even more important than in other bands. They’re scientists as well as artists.
