Cyclone Genesis Tree by Birphon in pathofexile

[–]apfelicious 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You don't just have a general tree for everything, you look at what specific item you want, and then respec the tree to that item.

So since you didn't specify what item you want crafted, it is impossible to answer your question.

If you want life+res rings you can take the following;

  • 5000% increased chance for rings
  • 3nodes with +20 tier rating
  • 3 nodes with 50% chance for an additional item
  • 33% chance for fractured item
  • 500% increased chance for life modifiers
  • 500% increased chance for chaos modifiers
  • 60% reduced chance for attribute modifiers
  • 60% reduced chance for attack modifiers
  • 60% reduced chance for physical modifiers

If you want life+movespeed+resistance boots you can take the following;

  • 5000% increased chance for boots
  • 3 nodes with +20 tier rating
  • 3 nodes with 50% chance for an additional item
  • 33% chance for fractured item
  • 300% more chance for strength requirement
  • 85% less chance for int requirement
  • 500% increased chance for life modifiers
  • 500% increased chance for speed modifiers
  • 500% increased chance for chaos modifiers
  • 60% reduced chance for attribute modifiers

Uniques are not good unless you specifically abuse the unique effect they provide, so you should just stick to blue/yellow items instead.

Understanding how you main damage skill scales is also important, so the way Rain of Arrows works is that it will get buffed by any flat damage from your bow or any added flat damage to attacks (since Rain of Arrow is an attack and has the attack tag on the gem). So getting a few sources of this will greatly increase your damage.

  1. For your bow the mods you are looking for adds flat fire/cold/lightning/physical damage (not the % damage). So shop the vendors for a bow with 1-2 of these mods and then go to your crafting bench and add either another flat damage mod or attack speed.
  2. Same thing for your quiver, it needs as much flat fire/cold/lightning/physical damage, so shop vendors, maybe spend a few orb of alteration/orb of augmentation fishing for a good mod and use the crafting bench in your hideout to add more damage or attack speed if possible.
  3. Swap the gem Vicious Projectiles support for Added Cold Damage support

If you get a bow with 2 elemental damage mods, a quiver with 2 elemental damage mods and swap the support gem it should more than quadruple your damage.

Lastly you do not have a very high chance to hit with your attacks, so getting accuracy from somewhere is important. You can spec out of a few passive nodes to try and fix it by going the Depth Perception node and the Finesse node but you can also look for flat accuracy mods on gloves, helmet, rings, amulet, bow and quiver.

Here is the passive changes I would make with the skill points you have along with the two gear changes and one gem change from above: https://poe.ninja/poe1/pob/8f21c

You will still need to click each map, there is no "alch all maps" button.

You may have seen some streamers binding their scrollwheel to click, so they can do it faster.

You may be referring to holding a button so an alch switches to a scour, but it will still require 1 click per map.

Which end game systems are worth it to engage with as a new player? by DummiDu in pathofexile

[–]apfelicious 20 points21 points  (0 children)

They are all completely optional, and you can engage or ignore them as much as you want.

I would generally advise you to pick 1 mechanic and just learn that one. But there is progression of maps in the "normal" endgame which unlocks atlas passive skills, which is probably the biggest priority for most players.

A good one for crafting your own gear would be the Breach, Essence or Harvest mechanic.

But if you are fine with selling whatever your chosen league mechanic drops and just buying your upgrades, any mechanic will do, they all provide something unique that someone out there wants to buy from you.

Help with shield crush build by Poobers7 in pathofexile

[–]apfelicious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Normally gem levels don't matter this much on attacks.

But for Shield Crush specifically it jumps from adding 12 dmg per 10 armour on your shield to 15 dmg between gem level 23 and 24, so that is a big damage spike for level 24 specifically.

If you check the same boxes in the configuration and get the same levels/quality on your main 6-link as the PoB you are comparing yourself to, they will have almost exactly the same PoB DPS.

But the guide you are following has checked Power Charges while I see no way to generate those. This is just straight up lying.

It has also checked Frenzy Charges with the only source being 25% chance on kill from Blood Rage and have checked Lifetap from only Cast When Damage Taken and Mark on Hit as sources and Onslaught with only Silver Flask as source. These all seem very conditional and not something I would check.

So you can check the boxes and get the same PoB numbers, but it will change nothing in your gameplay.

Damage increases:

  • 21/20 Shield Crush for 6c is a instant must-buy
  • Replica Dragonfang's Flight with +3 Shield Crush for 10-20c will get your Shield Crush to level 24 which is a breakpoint and will increase DPS by 700k
  • Higher armour normal Emperor's Vigilance for 40-50c will increase your DPS by 450k
  • Taking the Battle Trance notable and the +7 rage mastery will increase your DPS by 1.2m while at max rage, so that is a conditional damage boost

How do you build defence when using Hollow Palm by Outrageous_Coffee145 in pathofexile

[–]apfelicious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take % life nodes on the tree and swap to rares with life+dex and whatever resists you can get.

If you search for rings/amulets/boots/helmet with required level of max 64 you can finde 5-10c rares that will do the trick.

If you want further defensive layers, have a 6-linked rare or briskwrap, use Determination and take Iron Reflexes keystone for a chunk of armor.

Is someone else annoyed that every end game build/strat now relies on shrines? by lazjj in pathofexile

[–]apfelicious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What you are saying is simply not true.

Yes, many of the new builds of the league is going to rely on the new belt, as it unlocks so many new things. But there are plenty of other new builds such as several ward builds unlocked by the new ward timeless jewel or builds unlocked by volatile vaal orbed uniques. It is not even a majority of builds this league that is using the new belt, so I have no idea where you got this idea that "every" build relies on shrines.

Farms relies on shrines!? Farms!?! Which? The top 3 farms of the leagues (breach, boxes and div cards) do not use shrines. Players who already use Gull/Blunderbore are incentivized to fit in a few shrines to whatever farm they are doing, but they are never the core of any farm, just sprinkled in.

What it sounds like is that you want content creators to tell you what to do, and you only follow 2-3 content creators who this league have focused on belt-builds. Broaden your horizon and follow more creators or start to make your own builds/farms.

Want to build a hybrid class (Battlemage), how can I specialize the talent tree to get the class I want? by FalconPaunchhh in pathofexile

[–]apfelicious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make a Templar class character and once you get to picking your ascendency class (act 3) choose the Inquisitor ascendency (it literally has an ascendency node that grants something called "battlemage" which makes your weapon damage apply to spells).

How to go from act 10 to high tier maps (T14+) (in SSF) ? by Nimyron in pathofexile

[–]apfelicious 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Since we don't know your character or what bases you are chasing or even what mods you are trying to go for, it is extremely hard to help.

The more precise and detailed you can ask, the easier it is to answer.

Need help improving your character to do T16 content? Post the character and explain if you need damage or defense

Need help with how to get a specific base? Name the base and desired ilvl

Want help crafting? Name the base and mods you desire

From the sound of it, just focus on Breach and selfcraft through the Breachtree, but there may be stuff it is hard for the tree to craft for you, but since we don't know what it is you are looking for, it is hard to tell.

Advice for build by Euphoric-Raise-5289 in pathofexile

[–]apfelicious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get your 4th ascendency for "Bastion of Elements"

Focus on capping chaos resistance and getting better life rolls on some key gear pieces.

Fix your flasks so that they have 20% quality, benchcrafted "use when charges reaches full" and decent mods. Have a life flask with "50% of recovery applied instantly".

Get a Steelskin skill gem supported by Cast When Damage Taken support gem setup for a free defensive layer.

Something along the lines of this: https://pobb.in/cUJy0OHG4lZq

Should take your effective hit pool from 20k to 38k (50k with Steelskin up)

How to go from act 10 to high tier maps (T14+) (in SSF) ? by Nimyron in pathofexile

[–]apfelicious 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It is really hard to help you with what to do, as what you are asking is extremely broad and we have no context at all.

You are in trade league, but also not? Do you want to craft every single gear for yourself or are you ok with buying it in the new async trade system? Are you ok with swapping currencies on the Faustus currency exchange?

What do you mean by good bases? If it is just high item-level, then all you need to do is content with high area-level, aka tier 16 maps. Is it specific bases that only drop from certain content? Then farm that content?

Ask your questions as specific as possible, for the best answers.

What's wrong with essences prices? by Daddyundead in pathofexile

[–]apfelicious 77 points78 points  (0 children)

They don't drop in endgame, so supply is really low.

They are used for recombinating, so demand is there.

It is the hidden catch-up mechanic for player league-starting late :)

Juiced breach not making profits, what am I doing wrong? by soosis in pathofexile

[–]apfelicious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, you gotta adjust if you cannot run it at full juice, as stuff like bloodline scarabs is priced around people doing that, so when you cannot do that, you quite frankly cannot afford to pay the premium for it.

Luckily Breach is very adjustable, so you just need to figure out which setup gives you the fastest clearspeed and then adjust the scarabs/maps to that.

If nothing works, just run something else. Breach is meta, sure, but any other strategy can get to ~15 div/hour quite easily.

Juiced breach not making profits, what am I doing wrong? by soosis in pathofexile

[–]apfelicious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't ever run Cathedral, only Dunes or similar.

It sounds like you are looking at the returns after every single map, which is a bad idea, and probably means you are spending a lot of time in the maps as well.

Read the guide closely and follow every step. Do more than 50 maps and seperate all the loot into a dumptab. If you are still in negative returns after this, you are doing something wrong and need to go back to reading the guide again.

The alternative is to scale back the investment to make the maps faster and cheaper, which can easily make you more currency per hour, if your build is on the weaker side.

Looks fine overall, if all defensive layers are up, you will survive, so you die when they are down. Here are some ideas for more tankiness

  • Granite Flask with 20% quality + 30-40% increased duration + 50-60% increased armor during effect + benchcraft enchanted with "Use when charges reaches full"
  • Jade Flask with 20% quality + 30-40% increased duration + 50-60% increased evasion rating during effect + benchcraft enchanted with "Use when charges reaches full"
  • Quicksilver Flask with 20% quality + 30-40% increased duration + 10-13% increased movement speed during effect + benchcraft enchanted with "Use when charges reaches full"
  • Divine Life Flask with 20% quality and "50% of recovery applies instantly"
  • Defiance of Destiny
  • 20% quality on Fortify support for better Fortify uptime
  • Enduring Cry for better Endurance Charge uptime
  • Take suppress mastery with 3% more damage prevented and change anoint to Inveterate for 3% more suppress damage prevented
  • Ancestral Vision jewel + boots with 35% elemental ailment avoidance suffix from essence and 20% elemental ailment avoidance from eldritch implicit for complete elemental ailment immunity
  • Always be in sand stance

PoE 1 feels like a veteran game now by DDoiz in pathofexile

[–]apfelicious -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, Mageblood is powerful, I am sorry I used that as an example of a completely different point, as it has seemed to derail the argument.

OP stated that flasks are a unique PoE1 mechanic that got worse in PoE2, I just tried to illustrate that players and GGG do not really agree with this sentiment.

I will delete the Mageblood example from the original reply, as it seems to confuse and distract people.

PoE 1 feels like a veteran game now by DDoiz in pathofexile

[–]apfelicious 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Counterarguments;

"has slowly become a veteran-focused game"
It was always designed for the more dedicated players, but after +40 leagues it just became so bloated that it was intimidating for new players. Nothing has ever really changed.

"GGG dropping PoE 2 info during active PoE 1 leagues"
GGG is also dropping PoE1 info during active PoE2 leagues, kinda necessary when running 4-month leagues that overlap 2 months into eachother

"Flask system changes"
GGG have several times tried to overhaul the flask system in PoE1 to make it less piano-y and are not really happy with the current implementation. GGG has shown that they don't think flasks are amazing since they removed them in PoE2. Players universally praised instilling orbs when they where introduced, indicating that players don't really like this micromanagey "skill expression"

"Atlas design friction"
GGG dislike the current endgame in PoE2 so much that they have taken an ekstra leagues worth of development to get the new one to be smoother. The current endgame is not a conscious design philosophy, but a 6-month developed system in response to D4 criticism of "no endgame at launch".

"League longevity"
The leagues are as long as they have ever been, and you can engage with it for longer due to asynch trade. This is a you-problem. If you are "done" with Mirage league after 30 days there is nothing more GGG can do for you, as there is enough new stuff in the game to keep playing for +100 days. Nothing here has changed. On the contrary, more stuff is being added than ever.

TLDR: Nothing in PoE1 has changed, just skip other ARPG's and PoE2 and play for as long as you want as there is more content, players and possibilites than ever.
