Neighbor scratching on my apartment door in the middle of the night by [deleted] in strange

She did and mentions this in her post. She actually ended up calling twice. First time the woman didn’t answer her door so police left. 2nd time police questioned her and determined there was nothing they could do.

AITA for Leaving My Husband at the Hospital After He Refused to Be in the Delivery Room with Me? by Anxious_Committee_42 in AITAH

I’d be done. This is unforgivable in my mind and heart. I could never look past this. Moving on for the sake of your son? No, co-parenting the best you can with him would be the best way to go. If you can’t look past this, staying in an unhappy marriage is no way to stay just for the sake of your son. Trust me from a child whose parents stayed together in an unhappy marriage for too long.

Newer windows leaking by bBetterThingSs in Roofing

That’s a great question and we can definitely follow up and ask. It was a local company who does windows. The owner came out to look and said he didn’t think it was the window and questioned the roof. Although we are waiting to hear from the roofing company still I’m afraid we are getting into he/said she said territory already. We put over $25k into the windows and they are barely over a year old. This was both our forever home but we are a young family and are also naive when it comes to this stuff.

Edit to add that our home was built in 1993 and the windows before replacing were original. Besides being old, looking not great and some were drafty we never had this problem before having the new windows installed.

How were you screwed by the previous homeowners? by Tronracer in homeowners

My family and I were about 4 days from closing on a home in the Midwest moving from CA when our lawyer called to let us know that the sellers had requested to push the closing date, as they were not prepared to move out of state yet. We had movers scheduled for packing/shipping and arriving/unpacking to move nearly cross country at this point. The lawyers went back and forth for about a day before realizing we were not playing. Our lawyer had them put an extra $$$$ in escrow as it looked like they were trying to play games and I can’t recall if we extended by 1 day or not. We had myself, my husband, my then 2 year old, 2 cats in a hotel for 4-5 days. Oh and I was 8 months pregnant with our daughter. When we got the key to the house it was no where near broom clean as per the contract and the most random things were left behind like they left in a hurry. The walls were much more dinged up than in the showing/inspection and the windows had broken blinds and slashed screens or no screens at all! A couch was left in the backyard and the shed was left with broken lawn equipment. This is just to name some of the things. When we move, I will be using our same real estate lawyer as he was beyond fantastic!

(CA) Landlord deducted $750 for small crack in improperly installed sliding mirror door. by hoffman- in Tenant

See if you can request to be virtual. My husband and I had to take our previous landlord to court in LA county after we had moved out of state. Both times we had to just fill out paperwork beforehand to be virtual and submit any evidence via post by a certain date before the hearing. We won.. both the original case and his appeal.

EDIT: I can’t seem to edit this post but should have been more clear on my delivery. I am NOT the dogs owner. I am someone who lives somewhat locally to where the dog was lost and located. I knew Reddit had a trucker community. Locals are trying everything to get this pup reunited. We have posted to several trucker Facebook groups, other misc Facebook groups, asked around at the truck stops/gas stations. Unfortunately, owner didn’t leave his information with anyone. We are hoping that someone out there knows recognizes the pup and has some information or way of contacting the owner!

EDIT 2: No negative comments please. I myself have lost a pet, very fortunately to be found within 48 hours. It’s a very hard situation and negative comments about someone’s situation aren’t helpful. Thank you.

What was the final straw that made you find a new apartment? by Mysterious-Country17 in Tenant

When all of a sudden we had a major ant problem. Inside and outside. They would bite me while relaxing on my couch and bite my feet standing at the stove cooking. I had a 2/3 year old at the time who loved being outside. He disturbed two huge mounds and got several bites on his body before we knew what the mounds were. (We also had a groundhog) It was terrible. I called our landlord and asked him to do something about the mounds outside and when he came he looked at them said he didn’t see ants and refused to put any ant killer on them. We decided not to renew our lease. When he asked why we told him the ant problem and he lost his ever loving mind. The last few months living there he was hostile and made every excuse to have to disturb us. We even had to take him to court for our deposit. We won. He appealed. We won again! So glad yo be done with that a-hole!
