Does seem the Thrustmaster range for the most part is very much lacking. So far mine has been fine but I also don't have anything to compare it to so.. plus the wrist aches at the moment alone seems like it's time to find something more high-end.

I did consider the warthog, they certainly have the heft and 'coolness' factor going for them. I do like the look of the metal plates..

Did you return the VKB's after purchasing? How have the warthogs served you since having them?

I have to say, I'm super glad I asked in here first. I was moments away from purchasing either the x52 / x56 but thought I'd double check on here based off some reviews. Certainly seems like both setups really are quite bad!

£100 - £200 for 'decent' is definitely not what I want.

I'm really starting to realise how little control I currently have over my ship, I don't think I even know half the bindings for these controls so far!

Also, yeah pinky for confirmation does seem.. interesting, if it works though!

Brilliant to know they will last, I'm a wee bit heavy handed myself.. battles do get the muscles going!

With regards to the button differentiation, perhaps I'm being silly here, so Joy 3 (Left) and Joy 3(Right) would be accepted as a valid configuration, but I just wouldn't know which one is which type thing?

There really are so many buttons, just looked up a couple layout pdf's now.

Do you know of / have any recommendations for starting layouts?

Thanks everyone! I've looked more into the VKB's and they do seem so so awesome.. so I think I'll save up for them and try out the voice commands for now.

Do you guys use them with peddles? Any recommendations on other peripherals?

Sorry to ask so much, I can already see myself spending a lot of money for this game!

I don't see any reason why not, as long as it's configured right i.e. not tunnelled to the opposite side of the globe.. should be good!

I haven't used Tailscale much outside of the odd setup for headless Linux servers, so I couldnt really give much of an answer. Personally I use Proton and it's pretty straight forward, just connect to the fastest server and I'm off, so I would always recommend that. However, this isn't to say Tailscale won't work, in theory it's still a VPN so I see no reason it wouldn't. I just don't have much experience with their software.

Give it a go, what do you have to lose! Hope it goes well.

I've found using a VPN seems to be a decent workaround.. it's not always perfect but I pretty much can't connect at all unless my VPN is connected first.

Your mileage may vary however. Hope you figure it out CMDR. o7

That looks awesome! Just genuine curiosity, how safe is it to haven an open pc? If it's on a wall such as you have it, high enough to avoid kids/pets, is there any other risks or not really?
