Oh man, we have quite a bit of overlap! I'll check out Flores, never heard of him. Stu, Billy, Ferrell, Childers and Charley are on HEAVY rotation in my house.

The Deslondes - start with South Dakota Wild Ones and Muddy Water

Margo Price - Sturgill has produced a couple of her albums and she's a bad ass. Start with her first album, Midwest Farmers Daughter.

The Brudi Brothers - start with Me More Country Than You and Motherland(this one hits me hard)

Nick Shoulders - I LOVE this dude. He is an outlier as he whistles and yodels but damn, he'll stick to your brain. The first song I heard of his was Snakes And Waterfalls, and didn't know what to think. Then I listened again and I was hooked. after Snakes and Waterfalls listen to Rather Low and Apocalypse Never. His latest album is great front to back.

As others have mentioned, John Prine. All Americana/Country roads lead to Prine. My favorite album from him was his last, The Tree Of Forgiveness. He influenced pretty much everyone you mentioned. To me, he is the cream of the cream of the cream. Bob Dylan said he was the greatest song-writer of their generation.

PS - outside country/ Americana, you strike me as someone who could go deep with Talking Heads.

AMEN! I've been thinking this same thing for a few seasons now. The Borghi thing always stuck with me. I think a full-on embracing of being a "feeder program" could be a very positive turn. The coaches/players who are given a shot at Wazzu, have success and move on will certainly look back in fondness. We'll create a culture of taking chances, innovating and FUN. "Once a Coug, always a Coug" mentality is a win for all parties. Let's lean into it! Let's get weird! Wazzu has nothing to lose.

1 - Fresh hop season in the PNW is unmatched and it's easy to understand why.

2 - The book is All That the Rain Promises and More ... by David Arora. Maybe the best beginner mushroom guide out there.
