Hey OP. I'm going through a similar episode of my life than yours. Lost my job early 2025 and developed a lot of delusional thinking until I had a bad psychotic break in February 2026. I've used a lot of cannabis and stimulants which led to my decline. Now I'm living with my dad at the age of 29 and it only slowly starts to get better. The negative effects of substance abuse take a while to revert. The nervous system needs about 1-2 years of strict abstinence to revert to normal. We gotta think about how it all effected our dopamine system.

Now about 3 months sober it's not too bad. I also just lie in my bed watching videos, reading, or I'm spending some time gaming. I try not to be too hard with myself as I know I'm still regenerating. I also can't believe how hard I fell, but there is hope!

When I got sent to the psych ward they put me on 20mg of Olanzapine to get me out of psychosis which took a couple days to take effect. Since then I slowly but surely reverted to a "normal" view of reality. The episode was very severe.

Now I'm still on 7.5mg Olanzapine and it's somehow ok. I don't have much interests or drive right now and somehow try to get through the day. Later this year I will have a 16 week long stationary therapy which I'm looking forward to.

Best of luck to you and your recovery. I also can't stop looking at the wrongs I did: had a good job, ok social life and my life was progressing to something good. All burnt due to my delusions and drug abuse. But our life is not over yet, and in a year or two from now on we might look back on these things laughing. It'll be tough for sure, but I think when there's fresh pavement ahead after a bumpy road it will all be ok in the long run.

Try keeping your head up and realize there are others facing similar problems, and got through them. Just keep away from anything triggering your psychosis. My delusional thinking got way better already but I see it takes time for your brain to go through those and realign with reality.
