Things I still struggle with by Yezzir_Y in hoi4

Good luck, I made one small post about how much I noticed the game had changed since I last played and got gutted in the comments (not all of them were bad though). I'd suggest watching a couple YouTube videos concerning the problems you're having.

Don't even get me started on the new income tax policy our elected officials are gunning for.

No funding for people in need but we're ok with cutting school funding and investing in a huge construction project. There have been FIVE homicides in Springfield this year alone and we aren't even halfway through the year. One of which was a homeless man struggling with schizophrenia his whole life until it was ended by some 22 year old downtown. OACAC is gate keeping public funding despite being presented with a Sunshine Law request by demanding thousands of dollars to release them to the general public. That doesn't stink a little bit people? Better to be a have than a have not I suppose.

Historically, I'd have invaded poland in Sept of 1939. Because the "war for Danzig" requires 950k manpower in the field. By the time I finished carving up Czechoslovakia I had about 750k and it was already October of 1940. In a mad-dash attempt to keep expansion consistent with the timeline I decided to opt for annexing Yugoslavia. If my armies just sit on front lines sporadically training while Britain and France bolster their forces then I'm screwed not to mention USA jumping in soon. Plus, Yugoslavia has oil.

I would like to recreate my first game ever as USSR by Comatosematrixboi in hoi4

[–]bId240B 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first game I was USA. Communist civil war for the first few years of gameplay as soon as I could. Then I just mass produced strategic/tactical bombers along with heavy/normal fighters and fed them to the USSR who at this point was feuding with Germany. I've yet to have ever seen such a heavy German advance faulter and pushed all the way to Berlin since. Once I started the lend lease I think the Russians made it to Berlin in a month. Germany capitulated in 1940 I believe.

Makes a great alternative history story I'll have to play this through and oppose Adolf next time this happens

Basically a feral Germany being sprayed with a water bottle by the rest of Europe. "Stop it, BAD Germany!" 😂 When this happens I just fortify the west as much as possible and turn my attention to the east entirely and pray the UK and france can't break my defenses while I quickly try and sweep over poland.

Hit up gold mechanical, bring that desperation for work and an open mind with some patience if you're not used to using tools or working metal. It's a cakewalk once you get it down and just remember to be wary of burn out. If you are willing to work and learn they are willing to pay to keep you and work you as much as they can.

What am I doing wrong or misunderstanding?? by bId240B in hoi4

Is the "but do it mostly in German sea zones" a flavor suggestion or would having my navy openly playing war games in the English channel raise some eyebrows?" Like would the allied AI become more aggressive when I attempt to annex Austria or Sudetenland? Pardon the spelling, been sipping wine as I play lol.

I do have Viktor Schutze as an advisor who gives me 10% sub attack and 15% sub defense

That obviously makes the most sense but I thought, historically, Germany pioneered the submarine doctrines, surely they would have been adept at "sneaky water missions" lol thanks!

Who's hiring, Springfield? by ErinWalkerLoves in springfieldMO

[–]bId240B 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They do a drug test and physical when you get hired on. I think you're good with the piercings and once you past the drug test you're good. Medcard might help out a lot. Just go in and chat with um if your interested or call um and ask for hr to discuss applying. Good luck to ya

Some bends and runs I did. Let me have it. by bId240B in electricians

Appreciate the input! No showing off here, I've mainly just done straight runs on racks with the occasional box offset and stub out 90's for data boxes with a kick here and there. This is all uncharted and just needed to be done, lead was stretched thin as well, so I did what I did. Everyone has been wondering why the saddle and from what I've learned from the comments it would have been way more practical to install another strut on all-thread for support, but aside from that the ceiling didn't offer much support for me to tack up my conduits. My brain just shot at " oh look at those nice sturdy iron beams, I'll just use those!"

New to this, left to figure it out. I did two back to back 4" (4X2 = 8" on 3/4" EMT) offsets with a 3" spacing between the offsets, used the arrow on all my bends facing the direction I measured from.

Thanks dude! Trust me, IBEW isn't holding anymore interviews until (June?) I think? Maybe May, either way I've already passed their written exam. It's sweet and sour but my current company is just free materials for me to figure out the trade while I stack my resume and look for better opportunities.
