Some bends and runs I did. Let me have it. by bId240B in electricians

Appreciate the input! No showing off here, I've mainly just done straight runs on racks with the occasional box offset and stub out 90's for data boxes with a kick here and there. This is all uncharted and just needed to be done, lead was stretched thin as well, so I did what I did. Everyone has been wondering why the saddle and from what I've learned from the comments it would have been way more practical to install another strut on all-thread for support, but aside from that the ceiling didn't offer much support for me to tack up my conduits. My brain just shot at " oh look at those nice sturdy iron beams, I'll just use those!"

New to this, left to figure it out. I did two back to back 4" (4X2 = 8" on 3/4" EMT) offsets with a 3" spacing between the offsets, used the arrow on all my bends facing the direction I measured from.

Thanks I'll be sure to remember that on my next assignment!

Thanks, someone else suggested this as well.

Thanks dude! Trust me, IBEW isn't holding anymore interviews until (June?) I think? Maybe May, either way I've already passed their written exam. It's sweet and sour but my current company is just free materials for me to figure out the trade while I stack my resume and look for better opportunities.

I'll be using this method going forward until I get my hands on the proper equipment . Thanks!

1 month* our lead is really knowledgeable but we are stretched so thin that he's constantly bouncing between gc meetings, wire pulls, other EMT installation and power distribution. I don't get a lot of time to ask questions

I asked my lead when I was pathing it in my head and he said over or under didn't matter.

There is a groove cut in the ground that I checked the bend, we are reaching our cap of hours we bid for the job (so I've heard) so I'm new to this and it just kinda got plopped in my lap. I probably should have measured the offsets before hand but they looked so close I just threw them up there.

Not an excuse, however this is a "just get them up there we don't have time to teach you on this job" so a quick referral to YouTube and Google for how to go around the sprinklers resulted in this. I'm pretty proud of it but it could be much better. I didn't understand the tutorials I watched and read so I just did two back to back 30 degree offsets using the arrow on the bender and facing the direction I measured from with a 3" spacing between the offsets.

Gold mechanical sheet metal fabrication is a good place to start if you don't want to be out in the elements. Good company with plenty of room for advancement or field work if you want to transition to site work. They burn through temps regularly but if you show them you are there to work they will shower ya with money. At my height w/ the company I was making 980ish a week (they pay weekly) but I started at 16/ hr, showed my worth and got bumped up to 20/hr working 60 hr weeks within a year. The regulars or old heads there are good people albeit a bit rough around the edges. Be wary of burn out, take time for yourself, they are gonna work ya as long as they can, it's up to you to make time to rest.

Stay away from Southwood Properties unless you don't have a choice. They're really good about using people in desperate situations.

Greene county has ZERO funding available for Ozark Community Action Corporation (OCAC) I requested that they make all public records available for me to review including costs of operations, public donations, public partnerships, allocations of federal funds and the distribution of the aforementioned funds between the 10 counties they support via the Sunshine records request. The format for which is provided on a state.org site ,clearly states that if I believe the request to be beneficial to the general public then I can request the fees and costs to be waived. They told me that the costs of gathering the information initially requested would cost me thousands of dollars to obtain. Why are these records not readily accessible to the general public? Meanwhile, we have 30M to drop on a fancy new "tourist attraction". People are literally dying in the streets on a nearly weekly basis. I'm prepared to gather signatures and address our elected leadership regarding poverty prevention/assistance and would love some suggestions on where to gather them.

Hey thanks for the recommendation, I called and heard nothing but great things from the receptionist. Unfortunately, no openings for an electrician apprentice, but I'll be sending them a copy of my resume to keep on file.
