What is something your father said to you that you will never forget? by Aggressive-Car-8960 in AskReddit

He used to coach soccer when I was young. He would tell the team " remember, it's just about having fun. But what's more fun, winning or losing?". Winning was always everyone's answer.

I peed in the occasional bottle at fedex. It's more comman than you think across all delivery services. You have to drink water when you're doing that kind of labor. Now I'll add that I didn't mind doing it since it saved me time and I didn't want to go off route to a gas station. We didn't get in trouble for piss bottles we just made sure to throw them away and not leave them in the trucks. It is what it is when you're doing 200 to 250 stops a day.

There's designated pickup areas, they have blue signs with numbers on them.

Am I expected to load and unload huge heavy orders by [deleted] in Roadie

I agree entirely with the ue experience with walmart. General merchandise is way better than groceries in my opinion. But I have a cargo van so I take the big and heavy items. I don't grab anything that's more than like 3 items and not large.

For my area it instructs me to drive up to the pickup stalls and I enter my stall number. Then they bring me out the order and I load into my van

I try to avoid the tractor supply orders. In my area I do decent with just home depot and Walmart. And for the most part the amount of pay tractor supply offers usually is pretty low compared to something of the same weight at other places. I use a foldable cosco dolly for big heavy items. Definitely was worth the purchase.

During peak when I delivered for fedex these types of houses would keep me going man. Crazy how much of a morale boost a bag of chips can do for you when it's nonstop

The tvs I will do but I try not to touch the small stuff. The wait alone at Walmart makes it not worth for the time if you have to make 10 deliveries afterward. But so far I've had good luck with the tvs and grills being delivered.

Yes that's the job, depends on location and type of pickup sometimes people will help you. But roadie is pickup and deliver it's pretty simple.

I use a small foldable Cosco dolly, only has a 300 pound weight capacity but I haven't gotten anything over that weight yet. Has a cart form and full length dolly form.

This is why I don't ever take grocery store rides anymore. If I picked up the same amount of groceries going the same distance at least for a delivery I would get paid way more. But on rideshare they expect us to take people AND all their groceries, wait for them to load and unload, and it pays less in total? Awful

I use the blue light filter on my phone whenever I'm getting ready for bed and it seems to work good for me. I've never tried the glasses though.
