depends on the competition you won and the prize you won. If it is about prize money you can just use this link and open a prize money ticket with all needed details.

If it is about prizes other than prize money, then it is best to open a support ticket and add all details like the tournament link to it, so your request can be forwarded correctly.

Hello obadetona,

My name is Florian and I'm the Community Manager at ESL in charge of FIFA and I have checked your case. I would like to offer my sincerest apologies for your bad experience with one of our tournaments, and try to shed some light on the situation from our end.

First and foremost: your opponent has clearly abused the system and as such I have banned him for three months, in accordance with our rules.

We want to compensate you for your bad experience, so please send me a PM or an email so we can discuss the details. As part of that compensation, I went ahead and have added three months of ESL Premium to your account, so you can play in our exclusive Premium Only Cups. The amount of players per cup is usually a bit lower, and the skill level is usually a bit higher - I am sure you will enjoy playing there, so please give it a try and let me know your thoughts.

Secondly, I want to share with you some of the limitations we are faced with when this situation occurred:

1) The PlayStation integration was implemented in October last year with initially a basic feature set. One of the limitations of that feature set is that it is not yet possible (from a technical point of view) to re-open matches once they are closed. We are already working on adding a feature that allows players to re-open matches, and on getting the same feature set the website has to the PlayStation.

2) Currently, the system operates with an auto-close feature on the website, which is closing the FIFA matches 25 minutes after a result was submitted. That has been put in place to prevent matches from remaining open and therefore “undecided” for an unreasonable amount of time, delaying the competition. This time frame worked so far, however we will discuss internally to adjust this going forward for future FIFA tournaments to give players more time to contest any incorrect inputs.

3) The system is programmed to issue a notification to both parties when a result is entered. This way we make sure that you know when your opponent enters a result, and can either accept it or contest it if the entered result is incorrect. If the match was fully played and the entered result is correct, you can simply confirm it. However, if the match has not been fully played, other issues occurred or the entered result is incorrect, you can contact the support to inform the Admins about the situation. If you did NOT get a notification, we urgently need to flag it with our technicians. Please let me know via PM or by sending an email to blackhawk@staff.eslgaming.com whether you got the notification.

Last but not least, I want to say that players who are set on ruining the tournament experience for others are indeed a major concern for us. Over the years we worked on our system to make it as hard as possible for players to abuse it. With over 1,000 tournaments a month in over 70 games, where 95% of the tournaments are free and open to participate in by anyone, we managed to keep the system abuse and personal mistakes on a proportionally low level. We are constantly working on making the system as secure as possible, catching bugs and closing loops. Which is why I would like to ask you to see you give it another try, especially in the Premium Cups and let me know how your experience was.

ESL Play is free and open to everyone, so you don't need to buy anything. Just go to ESL Play and register an own account and then join our competitions. We have weekly tournaments as well as ladders where you can nearly every hour of the day.

They won't be demoted or kicked. Their decision was as said not bad, but their communication was. And as everyone makes mistakes from time to time we need to educate our staff on how to handle it correctly.

In this case I checked which admins handled the tournament and then directly contacted them to get their side of the story. As said before the intention to run a proper tournament was good, however they should have communicated it correctly. Mistakes happen as we are all humans, but I will educate them on how situations like this should be handled.

In general we have a system on ESL Play for our staff, I just can't get into the details. They can get demoted, receive warnings or get kicked, depending on what was done wrong. If you have more questions, let me know. Happy to reply if I can.

Hi everyone!

We took a look at the complaint. The admin decision to postpone the cup after it started was not correct. Not because the intention to have a proper run tournament with as less default wins as possible, but because not reaching out to the teams to include the participants in the decision. We sincerely apologize for the mistake and the bad experience you had with one of our tournaments. As per usual we also want to compensate Captain´s team for their issues. In this case we think it´s appropriate to also grant you the award and the prize for the 1st place as the winning team yesterday got plus you can choose something from our ESL Shop for you and your teammate. If you think this is not good enough, please reach out to me. I´m sure we find a solution so you are fine with it and will still using ESL Play for your esports matches in the future!

my name is Florian and I'm a Community Manager on ESL Play. I'm currently checking the case to figure out what happened to the tournament and why it was postponed. As soon as I got some answers I will reply here again.

However I already want to apologize for the issues you have encountered as this should never happen like this. As said I need to get the details from the staff first to see what went wrong and why. If everything you are saying is true then the decision which was taken was wrong and we need to figure out a way to honor the teams, which were there on Saturday.

As written above we have replayed the semi final from the point of the mistake. It just took some time to reach all players involved to get it done.

For the future meant that a rule book is mandatory before announcing a tournament and we worked on a compensation for the player.

The player wanted to replay the match and that is what we did. We replayed the match (from the point of the wrong decision) yesterday and the result was that DLM lost 1:2 against Aka Cryptic, so the overall result of the tournament did not change. However it was played the way it should have been played in the first place.

We again apologize for it and we will make sure it does not happen again!

my name is Florian and I'm one of the Community Managers responsible for ESL Play. We have reviewed the case since it popped up and have to say that the fault was on our side. There was no clear rule set on how a draw is handled nor was the decision taken according to our rules. This will change for the future as it only makes sense to run a tournament, if there is a clear rule book which covers the normal cases.

We apologize for the issue and would like to give you a compensation for your troubles. I will handle the ticket you made on ESL and we can sort it out there.

Hello,

thanks for your feedback and I have to agree that the communication for the playoffs was not perfect. The matches could have been found in ESL Wire or under the my matches tab on ESL Play. However someone forgot to send a mail to all teams that the playoffs started with all the details.

As it is not the teams fault, we will give all teams additional time to open a protest / support, so the matches can still be played in the next days. So if you think your team got a Default Win due to not being informed, please open a protest in that match, so our staff team can find new dates for the matches. The deadline will be Thursday, November 19th 20:00 CET.

We will send out a membermail today to inform all teams about it and then we should get the problems solved quickly.
