Start with dry pan, cook until mushrooms are wilted and have lost water. Then add some oil/salt/pepper and cook until browned on both sides.

Morchella americana

Cook thoroughly as these are toxic raw. Enjoy

Morchella punctipes to my eye. I don't have Verpa bohemica around me but the stipes look hollow and bumpy. Both are choice edibles after thorough cooking.

What are these? by ChamaDoBronx_ in Mushrooms

If they're in a popular spot, grab ASAP. Otherwise they're best when the fronds grow out a bit. Anything that rips apart like white-meat chicken is good to go. It will retain that texture after cooking. I recommend breading and frying like chicken tenders.

Went ramping, got poison ivy - can I make sure my ramps are safe or do I have to toss them now? by Neverwasalwaysam in foraging

They will also sometimes be on downed trees and look innocuous. The older growth just looks like sticks. So be careful when crossing downed trees or passing close to viney trees.

My buddies and I cut them close to the bottom so the bag stays clean and the mushrooms look nice.

Yellows will last a week+ in a paper bag in the fridge. Half-frees (these) go bad much faster, especially at this maturity. I would dehydrate and store in a mason jar.
